To clear things up.

60% of the posts in my thread didn't understand my point, the other 40% were flaming each other.

No, I wasn't asking for them to just suddenly give us loads of content, I agree with their reasoning that players would get bored if the patches had large gaps between them. Oh wait, they already do, that logic is entirely nonsensical, and besides, if they were doing that they'd still release content faster then they are, you're telling me they're going to give us 0.5.6 over four or five years? And then it'll be past 1.0.0? Uhh, no.. That's not the reason.

and

No I don't think adding/removing/changing some textures is as easy as snapping you fingers, as two people said. But there's a great difference between the ease of snapping your fingers and laboriously working on a game several hours a day for months in a row, which they clearly have never done. (And I'm not asking them to, but I doubt it would take more then 20 hours to add a new map into our version, and if it does, they're doing something wrong. And 20 hours of work, albeit unrealistically high for such a simple task, hardly warrants months and months between patches.)

and

No I'm not complaining, it may sound like it. But I'm just trying to get a straight answer, the closest thing I got was something about copyrights. I'm relatively certain that is what's stopping them from releasing content.

But then again, CF:PH has more content then us and they were released later, their local distributor must be richer and must be able to pay for the new stuff, or something.

So to solve the problem everybody spend twice as much on ZP as they currently do, we should logically get content twice as fast, or at least faster then we are now.

Please don't flame people in my thread, or if you have to, flame me because I won't childishly respond.

(Just woke up. xD)

There'd be relatively little complex coding involved in the process, it's already coded and only slight changes would/may need to be made.
  • i totally agree. content is taking way to long. crossfire philipinas was released like 7 or 8 months later the us.. and in less, then 4 months they have managed to get more conent then we do.

I dont know why but always in american games this tends to happen. Atleast in AVA, they are coping the japanese version content so they recieve like 6 weapons a month, atleast 1 new mode and 3 maps.

We get almsot no ew modes, 3 weapons as a max every 2 months and maby a map. also bugs and glitches..

something needs to be done about this.
  • I know what you mean Skalen, it makes "We're extending the games lifetime by not releasing everything straight away." sound clearly wrong, because as I said at this rate good luck getting Escape Mode by 2015.

To others, please if you're going to post, remember I'm not complaining or actually asking for the content.

Also, there is not even a need to extend lifetime of the game..

    Therewill alwaysbe new maps
Theres thousands of weapons in the world to add
    hundred of knifes
    hundred of grenades
advanced/camo/dragon/gold weapons and more to come
    more accesories
    millions of characters to develope
millions of items yet to come
so many modes to be created no game would eer be able to release all of them
    graphic updates
    voice acting upates
    sound updates
    physics update
    WW2 weapons
    tactical weapons
    new scopes
    add stuffto weapons
    silenced weapons
    improve weapons

I could post over 500nthings to add, which wont be added in atleast 30 years of developing.. its just stupid that they try to extend the game life time...
  • ewwww walls of text, not gonna bother to read
  • Yeah, you did go a little over the top, we won't see that for 20+ years lol.

But yeah, I'm a relatively good cgi artist, I could easily make and texture new guns and knives etc, I could even make maps! I just don't know how to add the maps to the game, I experimented with modifying map files in-game but xTrap didn't like it and I most definitely wouldn't/can't make a bypass.

Though, if the game engine is well established they shouldn't need to do much to add your map choice to the list and let you play it, the modelling and texturing is what takes the longest (looking at CF:KO that get content as soon as it's produced). I could and should see if Z8Games is hiring, and if they'd need to pay none/less to Smilegate for producing their own stuff. (Like how Japan made Lab 2, and China made Arena 2, etc).

They can't even afford their own animator, they have to rip footage from foreign trailers.

    GL with that.
  • Lol true.

    They are kind of slack.

Last night somebody summed up my thoughts somewhat..

"Anything that's marketed should be good. Don't throw the "it's a free game line" at me, whether you pay for it or not it's being marketed."

But this is a good game, I do like it, and I'm not complaining, I'm just sort of disappointed that such a good game isn't receiving the plethora of already created updates from foreign versions, and have no form of staff willing/able to make their own stuff, or variations like some versions other then Korea have done.

Lol, this game is a fail hard with weapons, guns, textures and plenty more, yet somehow we
still play hour's a day and spend money...agreed they are slacking and need to pick it up.

    Post count somewhere else.

On-topic: Your other thread was funny. The amount of simple-minded people posting in one place was a good laugh.

Yes this is kinda what I meant, I don't believe it "fails" so to speak, but rather, it could be doing better. I don't see how a better game with more content isn't going to attract more paying members, if to do this they needed more money would you be willing to pay twice as much for ZP to receive regular updates? I definitely would that's for sure.

It annoyed me, mainly due to the fact it resulted in the premature closure of my thread, a thread that I'd hoped would be taken seriously, but ehh.
  • CF:NA = Crossfire: North America
    CF:JP = Crossfire: Japan
    CF:CH = Crossfire China
    CF:VN = Crossfire Vietnam
    CF:KO = Crossfire Korea
    CF:PH = Crossfire Phillipines
Not sure what they have for the indonesian servers though.

Welcome to the Z8 forums =\
  • Dudes, perspective check.

In the cyber market for North America, Crossfire is so far down the list behind not only the console game companies(who usually get first pick of coders and programmers, and pretty much will outbid you for anybody they want to work for them), but there's probably a minimum of 1000 other online games that rank further up the totem pole than CF.

It sucks, and unless CF NA can start throwing money around(which they don't have, because few people use zp, so the revenue isn't there), or find a way to accelerate getting the content from the Chinese version, we'll just have to live with what we have now. To be fair though, it could be a lot worse, I actually enjoy the game a lot, the size is small enough that you can be familiar with each other, but big enough to keep a constant stream of fresh faces and diversity going. Also, the VERY tiny number of hackers here is something that I love, makes the game a lot more legit to play then Warrock or Combat Arms, where it's hard to find a hack-free game on certain days.

So take the good with the bad, CF here will never be what you hope for it, just because they don't have the money or personnel to make it so, but, we still have a large, nearly hack-free FPS that does expand and improve constantly for us and does use our feedback at times to make changes that improve the game for us. I can live with that.

Um, Crossfire is the 23'rd most popular game on x-fire. Just throwing that out there.

Maybe the reason you are playing and spending money means something: They made a fun game.
  • Oh lawd, 23rd most popular on Xfire? Whatever was I thinking? J/k for the sarcasm, but no, seriously........I made point after point and your only comment was disputing the ranking of it or something? I'm not just referring to Xfire, btw, there's thousands of online games to play in the US, and Crossfire probably doesn't rank too high among them.

Because of that, that leads into the slim pickings for top-notch coders and programmers(not dissing the ones we have right now, just the fact that we all sort of have to not expect anything from them in order to be pleasantly surprised when a new map or weapon comes out), not to mention the smaller share of the internet gaming revenue pie as compared to other games, so that makes it impossible to just try to spend some money and buy the means or personnel to create a better game.

Even with that, I'm still a fan of CF, like I said, the size of it is large but friendly, and the number of hackers compared to the majority of other online FPS games is minimal at best, sometimes even non-existant. And while I dislike the relatively slow rate of work done by the programmers and developers, they do provide a measure of good content, and do take our feedback into account at times, so it's not the end of the world.
  • Seriously?

I believe CF:NA uses/wastes the most money on the game, and yet we get the least crap.

If I knew how to read Japanese, I would so go on that version. >_>

I highly doubt they don't produce enough money to have a low estate to improve CF. As the facts are their. But, the past months I've seen lack of innovation towards CF or intriguing improvement besides the UK server. The game needs more content, as it seems like Z8 is taking very slow as I agree with. Especially a version that came out not to long ago and getting much content. -.- But I hope in the long run that the future has much improvements as this patch just made more errors. Incorrect information crash, etc
