I just downloaded this game today because my friends told me it was a good online game. But ended up with the gaming not even starting. I did all I can and what you guys said, reinstalled the game like 5 times and took me about 3 hours now and it still won't start. I think Im just gonna give up on this and get back COD4...

How foolish though.... Just because of an unnecessary halloween update, ruined the gameplay for many players.....

i got the same problem and all ur tricks didnt help...
so i went to an friend and took his.. then it works..
after the haloween patch it dont work again...
please give an trick how to play every time...!!

I face this problem every time after the patch, the only way I can fix this is... the day i patch didn't work. Then i wait for tomorrow and open it. AND, it worked. I don't really have a solution except for waiting another day wasting my time.

yea sorry guys it seems that my solution only helps half the people with this problem,
but yea same thing as usaul with me.
opened CF did the patch, got the forged, it closed down, went and did me dixk clean up, and then went back to CF and boom right back on,
oh and the halloween map is fun as hell

sorry guys i sure wish i could fix the prob for all, but we will figure it out

i wish they would stop releasing so many d4mn patches, seeing as so many people are unable to play the game afterwards, it is truly annoying!!!!!!!!!!!
i have tryd deleting my history ect a million times - nothing works!
All i wanna do is play some CF , is that to much to ask - hopefully tonight after im done work the game will magicly work again (Doubt it)

Patching a game is always necessary. No matter what game. Vietnam | Glory Obscured (a mod I test for) is often patching because of the major exploitable bugs that come up. This is the reason for patching Crossfire, unless you want some glitchers, hackers and nothing new.

Solution

Many of my friends have experienced this problem and I've found out how to fix them all, here's the solution that might just work for you:

1. Uninstall Crossfire from control panel
2. Delete both crossfire folder (My documents, Programs)
3. Run disk cleanup
4. Reinstall crossfire but in a different directory (c:/ etc)
5. Upon successful installation update the game as you start
6. The game won't work after the update
7. Run the disk clean up again
8. Now the game should work =]

or

1. Start/run type "msconfig"
2. Go to the service tab
3. Hide all Microsoft process
4. And then disable any running process that you don't need

or

1. Exit your antivirus, antispyware

Tried options 2 and 3, these don't work on my computer. I don't like the first option much though.

Tried option 1, does not work. I think though everyone is feeling real forgotten not hearing any input from the mods.

Thats it after clean up is done restart crossfire and u should see the newest bulletin

Dont ask me how it works i truly dont know but it is what i have to do after every patch, so enjoy and if u see anyone with the same problem pass it on to them

It may also happen if you are on wireless internet and your internet gets shut down while you try to play. it will come up wit hthis error. just reconnect and it will be fine

Here try this:
uninstall the game, delete the Z8games folder in program files, delete folders: CFSYSTEM and CrossFire in "My Documents" then restart your computer. Then reinstall teh game. i hope that does it.

Disk clean up failed. I uninstalled and deleted all files associated with the game.

I attempted to reinstall after downloading.

I can not install the game now, I am getting a rf107.rez error.

Anyone know what I can/ should do?
