client patch already running

I just installed the game and then i opened crossfire, but nothin appeared, so i decided to open it again, but then it says 'client patch is laready running'. I then opened task manager and canceled the process and tried to open crossfire again, but the same thing happened. I then reinstalled it but again the same error comes back up. I also tried different compatabilities, but that also didn't work. I also tried waiting for 30 minutes, but again failed. oh by the way i deleted Xfire(the talking thing or whatever that was) Would that have contributed in anyway?????!!!!!
