Extremely SLOW loading times

Hello z8games community!
I just recently started playing CrossFire and its fun but the problem I have is how slow it loads. It takes me like 5 minutes to start up the game and get to the lobby which I can deal with but it takes me forever to join in a game. Like if I'm playing E.M. on Alaska by the time I join a game it will be the fifth round already. Then when its over I wait a similar amount of to get back to the game lobby and by that time a new game has already started causing me to be even later to a game I was already late to. I think the main problem is how long it takes the game to switch resolutions.

My comp Specs:
OS: Windows XP SP3
RAM: 446MB (512MB but my GFX card is dedicated)
CPU: AMD Sempron 2.0ghz
GFX: ATI Radeon Xpress 200

CrossFire Settings:
Res: 1024x768
Menu: In Window
GFX: 32bit
everything off except blood

P.S. I can run this game on max settings at 40-50 FPS but I run it on all low because it lets me join a game a lil faster.
P.P.S. I'm decent at this game and a few times I've been called a hacker is this something I should come to expect if I play good and do I have anything to worry about if I get reported for hacking if I'm not hacking?

Comments

  • put lower settings in corssfire, or try upgrading ur computer
  • Thanks but it's already on all low except for blood is enabled and if I put it on 16-bit it actually loads slower. I can run this game on max settings if you didn't read it so it's not really my comp speed.
  • You can try using 'Game Booster', that might speed it up alittle bit more.
  • wow, u get 40 fps? my avg is only 20!!! and only 30 at the most!! one time it went to 6 fps!!!! its not my conncetion, my connection is great, but i think its my graphics card r something
  • when i use gamebooster i get about 30-40 fps. i rlly need more ram xD
  • Thanks. It has a defrag feature which sound like it could help and the process ending stuff is awesome. I can't test if it works because the server is down though :/
  • I have this problem too, even when using game booster. It takes a long time to load games but it is really fast once loaded.
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem (not that I'm glad that anyone else has it either) but that means it might get some attention in a patch. My computer is decent and I'm happy with it because I got it 4-5 years ago for $400 and it can still play highish end games (Source engine games!!). The best thing I think you can do for your computer is reformat and reinstall windows every 6 months or so. I get a huge FPS boost in all games.

And also, use gamebooster, itss great im just not sure what gameguard will think about it.

    This is my stats,

O.S Windows XP SP3 version 2002 Media Center Edition
    CPU Pentium(R) 3.20 GHz
    Ram 2.0GB
