[Guide]How to Make a Suggestion
It has come to my attention, that as of late, people have been putting little to no effort into their suggestions, so I decided to type this up.
Before you begin, log in and go to the "Suggestions" section of the forums. Not the barracks, not clans, but suggestions.
Before making a suggestion, use the search button to determine whether your question has been asked before. If so, you can most likely expect similar results. However, if you find that your suggestion is new to the forum, you can continue.
When making a suggestion, you must take into account the attention span of the average forumer, and keep it to the point. It's not hard, but some people can make it harder than it needs to be. When you make a suggestion, people shouldn't have to struggle to make sense of what you're doing. Make an effort to entertain the reader, or they'll toss the idea like so many others and move on to the next thread.
Step 1: Give a short summary of your suggestion.
This gives the reader the general idea before he decides that he either is interested, or is not interested. The summary should include the main idea, a few general details, and applications in the game. Once this is finished, you delve more deeply into details/technical stuff. In this short paragraph, you need to convince the reader that your suggestion would really help the game, and give them a good reason to support you in your endeavor. Without a damn good reason, people won't give you a second glance.
Step 2: Go into Detail!
If a person has read your summary, and might be interested in the idea, they'll want to know more. So once they're past your opening paragraph, give them the blueprints of your argument, get technical about your suggestion. Try to answer most basic questions before they are asked with this section. This section should be at LEAST 1-2 paragraphs, depending on the complexity of the suggestion. The section should be organized, not skipping around, adding small notes as you think of them. Take pride in this section, as it is the most vital.
Step 3: fix ur grammerz!!!11one
Grammar is a very important aspect if you wish to be taken seriously. Someone who communicates like Master chief in "Arby n the Chief" will be blown off without a chance, no matter how well thought out your suggestion is. This means spelling mistakes, forgotten punctuation, non-capitalized letters at the beginning of sentences, and such.
Put your minds to good use, and be intelligent about posting suggestions. -Idedu
