Crossfire not working after a patch?

Alright, after almost every patch, someone somewhere has trouble getting their CF to patch properly, or it comes up with an error, or their anti-virus throws a fit and reads it as a false positive. Well, I'll give you a little help on that.

Ok, so you just patched your CF and got the "File changed" error. There are two ways to do this. First things first. If you don't have Fire Fox, download it HERE. The reason being for downloading this is because I prefer it over IE, its faster for MY downloads, maybe not for others. But also, it saves your downloads in your documents, there will be a folder called "Downloads". So you won't have to re-download something if you have to uninstall it for some reason. Like CF.

Now, download CF. Uninstall your current CF. And when its done downloading, install it, patch it, and if it works great! If it doesn't continue to read.

If the above did NOT work, then what you need to do is hold on to the downloaded CF file, uninstall again (yes I know, just be patient.) Now, go to "My Computer", then click on "Local C: Disk" and click on "Programs". Scroll down till you see one of the following folders, "Z8Games" or "Suba Games". Right click the folder, and delete it. Then go to your recycle bin, and remove it from your recycle bin also (just to be %100 sure that all the files are removed).

Now, open your file you downloaded earlier, and install CF. Patch it, and it SHOULD work.

If you are having problems with your Anti-virus looking at CF as a false positive, either you're using the free version of AVG or you're using McAffee. If you're using McAffee, just go into McAffee and set it so that the .exe is set to ALLOWED. If you're using AVG free version, then I suggest you uninstall your free version of AVG and use Microsoft's Windows Defender, which you can download for free HERE.

Hope this helps, for those who need it.
