Ya my fps drops alot too when all the chatlines are full of "PRESS F11 FOR FREE ZP", "F11;F11...".And i dont have bad pc, i can play sniper ghost warrior, cod mw1 n mw2 without lag but i cant play cf without lag :facepalm:

its a mmoFPS, MMos are community based, so public chat is there... ALSO every FPS multiplayer game has a public chat...
Chat does not make you lag, the amount of bandwidth needed to transmit text is so small it is not a factor. HOWERVER the chat in this game causes FPS drops (WHICH IS NOT LAG) because the game is so poorly coded, even people with a highend system get a 10-15 fps drop. The answer is to fix the game not get rid of public chat. (That would be kinda like cutting your hand off cause you have a hang nail)

Disable it and allow clan chat and team chat only, and don't allow the other team to pm members on your team, it would be 100% effective against persistent QQ'ers that not only QQ but request kicks via the chat.

So, are you saying that public chat in-game be totally eliminated? or that there be an option of eliminating public in-game chat? sometimes I talk to the guys on the other team.
