iPsyC Needs Help
Hello, *Kitty! hahah* no srsly,
I plan on buying a new computer because my current PC is getting old and ya know... it sucks. I would prefer buying a laptop because it's more useful for college. So yeah, can you guys suggest me a good gaming laptop? Money is not a problem. (Something under 1 500$, if possible)
Oh, and... I'm also looking for a professional camera with interchangeable lenses that can take HQ pictures and that costs around 1 000$.
Thanks for your good advices.
PS : I'm kinda dumb when it comes to computers and cameras.
I'd like you to tell me what's important to know when you're looking for one.

ok so i seriously LOL'ed. good luck getting a pc lawl. -
The only thing I'm gonna tell you, is that I prefer not to trust laptops for the following reasons:
1. In case you lose any piece of CD with drivers, or scratch 'em up, if you re install your system, you're gonna have so much "fun" time searching for drivers.
2. It's way harder to replace burned up hardware in your PC. It's hard to replace your old hardware with more performant new stuff. Therefore you'll end up buying laptops every few years, in order to keep up with the technology (if you're a big time gamer, you will understand what I'm trying to say if you try to play Crysis on some Pentium 4 with maximum graphics).
3. Toubleshooting. As you might know, laptops have less time to live than the much more solid "office" computer. First of all, if you're a gamer, your computer WILL overheat. And eventually you WILL fry your grapics card. And once again, the hardware is harder to replace in a laptop.
Now correct me if I'm wrong anyone. That's an IMO. I never really had laptops. -

Aww sh*t... I didn't know laptops were so bad.
I'll listen to your advices. You seem to know a great deal about computers.
So, which Desktop Computer would you recommand me?
Oh, and what about the camera? No one mentioned it... -
I have no ideas about cameras. Well, laptops ain't bad, they are just too complicated (and once again, it's an IMO) that I allways used desktops over them.
Desktop computers vary. For exemple, mine is some i5 processor with 4 cores (resulting in some pretty heavy CPU action), some HD sound card (don't exactly remember) and a pair of ATI Radeon 5700 HD linked in ATI CrossFireX. Those PCs can run pretty much anything with awesomness. Costed me 'round 900 euros (Something like 1200 - 1300 $ I think?).
Now it all depends on your personal opinion, and on what you're gonna do with this computer. If you are planning to have big time playing Battlefield Bad Company 2, you'll certainly need some pretty good config. If you are not completely addicted to gaming I would suggest ya some cheaper config. Like, if you're gonna go play some Half Life 2 and UT3, you can do pretty well without all those money taking SLi and ATI crossfire adapted motherboards. One Graphics card will be more than enough.
EDIT: If you really want something wich will be a supercomputer, check out alienware brand. Oh and one more thing about those: This will cost you one ASSLOAD of money. -

Graphics card.. dam it's fryed..
Screen is dead too..
Get a pc with high GhZ and high RAM.
Cos GhZ for much fps and a not so big ping.. -
THIS is what I meant. Laptops are pretty complicated. Hard to repair when fried.
I had to plug it on with a HDMI to my TV..
then i could see something..
it only said repair Windows or continue
When i repair it's just a waste of time
When i continue it won't work and it's the same as a waste of time -

@ iPsyC > Well, if you need further suggestions considering the cost/performance balance, PM me. I'll search out, and get you something not too expensive and working fine. Feel free to ask more competent people than me, since my speciality stays software. -
I can in theory try to replace the screen, but I have no idea what this will give. Either ways, I'm in France so I can't repair your computer. But this is one of the many reasons why I prefer desktop computers.

I'd really like to talk with you about it.
Do you have a Vent/Skype where we can meet?
OT : Does that mean you speak french? -

Our vent crashed. And I don't use Skype. If you have a Vent/TS server, I can get in if you want. And yes, I do indeed speak french. Also I speak Russian, intermediate english (obvious?) and some basic spanish.
Dude, I'm a french Canadian. Ok, come on my vent.
