Gatling Gun Guide
Hello All.
This is going to be my Gatling Gun guide.
Alright so in most rooms I go to with my Gatling, I start getting flamed at saying things like: "gatling sux!!" "GATLING IS NOT FOR [NAME] MODE" "galitling plz trad!!!" "gatling gun is only for MM NOOB!" Then usually following by noobs picking it up, dieing with it, and saying "gatling su***x"
Well, IMO(and I'm sure anyone with an open mind) can agree that Gatling is one of those guns in CF that requires more skill and practice. So I'm here to teach how to play with this gun in ANY mode and to show it does not suck, but requires learning and patience.
So for starters, the basics of this gun.
Yes, as we all know it's heavy, but I'll get into this later. RoF is also very high, along with power. Like other MGs, it has high Accuracy along with high Recoil.
So, how to use this all to your advantage?
This section is how to use it in general.
Like any MG, you wanna learn how to 1 shot with it, especially useful at long range. However, it is a little more difficult with this gun because not only of the load up time, but the weight. Now just to get it out there, I am against thinking that these 2 as a negative, but as this gun does come with a learning curve, it IS a difficulty. But before learning to 1 shot, you will need to learn to keep it spinning. You can do this by tapping in 1-2 second intervals. This way, if the situation calls for it, you can have it ready to shoot rather than being stuck with the load up and end up dieing. This is 1 thing people loose out on.
Continuing, you are going to want to prefire with this gun if you know they are there, makes it much easier to kill them and not get beaten with the guns weight/load up.
One last basic tip for this gun, you need to know when to switch to your pistol lol
not everything can be accomplished with it.
Also as I mentioned about the weight, this is something I see a lot of people QQ about. But that is not a problem because, run around with your pistol, don't run around with the Gatling..you won't go far and the best way to use it is to run with your pistol, and whne you get to a spot you want to shoot, then bring out the Sasha
That's the basic stuff for the gun, now we're gonna go into more detailed tips for specific modes. NOTE that all the basic stuff still applies to these modes, so they will not be mentioned much, but keep them in mind.
MM is not needed I think, you can request it and I will, but IMO it's more obvious.
Moving on to a mode I use it a lot for, Ghost Mode
NOTE for these to work, you will need the basic GM skills of hearing breath, footsteps etc.
For GM I recommend staying near your base and looking around a bit with the Gatty, I do this because you can pretty easily catch any ghost that rushes out or moves around near there. I really like to do this in Laboratory in that open area between GR spawn and B Site.
After a while, switch to your pistol and run about where ever you choose really, kinda do your own thing. But if your confident enough with Gatty and you hear breath around, prefire a bit, or get the spin ready for when the come. Thats pretty much it. Not much to it other than to use the rest of your GM skills.
Next up, Search&Destroy
This is fun to use in the mode, especially when you get good with it, it surprises a lot of people. Again, run around with pistol, as I doubt you will be wanting to lug the Gatty through a whole S&D match. If you got your pistol out and you hear them coming around the corner, stick with the pistol. If you have the Gatty out, prespin/fire. If you fighting a long distance foe, use the Gatty if you can get the long range 1 shot/burst down. Pretty much it there.
Now for Team Death Match
Haven't actually used it a whole lot here, but for me anyways, it really depends on the map lol. Basically "snipe" longer range with it if you can, again, 1 shot/burst. Up close, give em the Sasha spray
Not much else to say here.
Free For All
Lol, I like using it in FFA. Only 2 maps for now...so basicly on either one, preferably Port for me, Get on top A Site and snipe with Gatty or prespin/fire if they coming up close. Other wise while running around use pistol lol.
Escape
I don't exactly use it for Esc a lot. On BL side I use it to take out the "gates" in like...under 1 min lol. Then I just usually switch to shotty or Tommy or something. On GR side you can snipe with it in the windows(Temple) and camp in the Exit and shoot at the 3 openings(also Temple). Don't really use it much for CommandOps other than to break down the door.

Well..Colombia..lol it's fun to snipe with it in tower or sides, just really mess around, not exactly a pro mode/tips for this lol.

Hope this will help out I may seem new to forums but I kinda consider myself a CF Vet..played like 1 year 3 months so this is one thing I did to start getting more on the forums and I didn't see one anywhere so I thought this might be useful. I am a proud Gatling Gun owner and love it. No regrets whatsoever getting it. Any questions post I'll be glad to answer. nice post, i really liked it. but still have some critisism, you will need to learn to keep it spinning.run around with your pistol,
those 2 dont really combine u cant keep your gatling spinned when ure equiping your pistol
about ghost mode.
i think the: m12s (superspeed) + spop + bunny hopping yourself (so u dont get killed) + other basic skils. owns harder

Lol well your choice really, but I usually go with AK Knife/Gatling.
And yea maybe I worded it weird, but I basically mean when you move around and such, you wanna run around with pistol. when you're at a "camping spot" and you are using Gatty, thats when you prespin. -

Also this needs to be read lol. AGAIN in a GM Lab I was at last night, I bring out my Gatling Gun. This noob follows me around begging for it. When I die he picks it up, dies. Then next round he says gatling gun is gay ---___---
