Crossfire freezes

Recently I've been trying to play crossfire on my laptop which is vista. All the connecting to game guard is OK, but when i go to the login screen, type my password, it then freezes. And i have to use task manager to close it.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Ty

Step into the CF program folder and go properties on all exe-files and set the files to be run as Admin in XPsp2-mode - worked for me.
Also you might have to let all CF-exe-files to be admitted to pass your windows-firewall and (if running) let it pass other guards such as McAfee.
Another good thing is to close the search indexing option in Vista for good to be able to get quicker restarts of your PC (if needed).
You might also have a connection speed problem and time out from the server. Check and tune better if possible.
Not to mention to get and run CCleaner once in a while and defrag your discs.

i got same problem , can someone help , it is just freeze after login and it tak 15 sec to get to server selection .

then I click the server , freeze again for waitting , then disconnect


some i can't even click on the server yet and it already freeze on the screen server selection .

I have 8400M GS Nvidia but iam not if it is the latest driver yet ?

also I found the link with latest driver but not sure , can some one check it for me thanks

Something is interrupting the login process. Nothing loads after the login screen is displayed, it is all preloaded in the cache. So that means that you cannot communicate with z8. This can be an antivirus, firewall, firewall exceptions incorrectly set, a personal connection handler refusing bandwidth allocation, or even what country you reside in and your internet service provider's filters.


Try this, see if the executable is in your exceptions list, and also make your internet connection is above 120k.


Also check to make sure you are running it admin and that nothing else is running like LimeWire or uTorrent or something bandwidth heavy.
