try posting better advice then if you want to help, your current advice isn't entirely incorrect
BSoD - most common causes
bad/corrupt device drivers
malfunctioning hardware
or bugs in the windows kernal of your OS
then again vista eats up a hell of alot of memory full stop
before you do anything first download ccleaner and ASC
run the care system for ASC and open ccleaner and click registry on the left and scan then fix any errors it finds ASC will do this when you click care also but using ccleaner as well will help. it will ask you to back up the old registry's in ccleaner you dont need to but you can if you want
after this try the game again, if BSoD occurs once again. turn off your computer turn off the power carefully open your case and carefully remove the ram try swapping them over and placing them back in push each end of the ram till you hear a click or feel the clip lock in then push the center of the ram just to make sure its perfectly in then, reload your computer and try cf again.
if none of the above work a format of your hard drive may be required. if your hard drive has a partition then just the rest of the space on your hard drive to make a new one that way you wont have to delete everything you've downloaded by formatting.
heres a how to guide on changing the boot process to the newly installed OS if you do this
