Any geeksquad wunna help?

i just downloaded a song and played it with all my songs then it says the file you are attempting to play has an extension (.mp3) that does not match the file format. Playing the file may result in unexpected behavior. I clicked cancel and deleted it, do i have like a virus or some ****? O.O

That means it wasn't an mp3, which brings what it was into question. It could have very well been a virus, but that depends on where you got the file. It may have been a .wav file, which is like an mp3, but most music players would recognize a .wav, in fact, a music player that recognizes .mp3's but not .wav's would be weird.

If you have a virus, you'll have to find out for yourself, I trust you have an anti-virus subscription, or are you a skeptic? Free ones like AVG work too, not as well, but they work-ish... If your computer is behaving oddly, you may have a virus. Even if your computer seems fine, you may not be infected, then again, the virus could be dormant.
  • Check where you downloaded the link from and the links website. Maybe more answers?
  • Go to your Anti-virus and then go to "Virus-Scan" Scan you whole comp and then if there are any odd stuff on it when it ends delete them Immediately.
