computer chrashers

i have a decent pc and a very high speed connection but in the middle of most games my comp freezezs and the only way to get out is to manually hold the power button on the comp down for 3 or more secs its works ok when the teams are 4 or less but if i got to a server where there a 16 player on each team it frezzes almost immedatly . it also seem to happen when i reload a throw a nade . cntrl alt delete does nothin to let me quit croosfire wehn its not responding maby if thre is a way i can still have a winows toolbar duirng the game (it dissapears when the game starts to load CAN ANY ONE HELP OR HAS NEONE HAD THIS ISSUS N CAN IT BE FIXED WITH OUT A NEW COMP?
