No promotion GP issue

I got promoted from Staff Seargent to SFC. While I got this promotion I didn't get any GP with it, is this normal? I know that Sub-promotions don't give GP, but the big ones do give GP..

Just brake the starter guns, m16 and m700, dont repair them and you will save money
