FPS Drops

Hi there,

ive noticed my game has some serious FPS drops after 5 minutes of playing

my laptop specs for the ones that think its the laptop thats doing ****

Msi GX620
Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz
nVidea 9600m GT
4 Gb RAM
enough free HDD space, No heavy programs running while playing the game.
oh, and running windows 7

Other games like, Left 4 dead, Unreal Tournament 3, Battlefield 2 runs great, only having problems with crossfire.

what causes the problems, and how can it be solved?

Restart your computer.

Works for me whever this happens.

Yes i have a good computer with all the new uptodate games, but the problems always have to be with crossfire. LOL

reinstall crossfire with new download from website then restart your pc with defrag'd registery.

Thanks ya'll for replying,

ive re-installed the game with the files from the website, official downloads, and have the same problems, restarted a few times also, defragmented the drive, cleaned registery and scanned for spyware & virusses, restarted the laptop some more

after doing all these things, the problem is still there,

anyone with some more idea's?

oh, and i tried some program called Game booster, dont help either

Hey me too, after the patch I've been experiencing FPS drops after a single game of playing.. It never happened before.. Why!!

Why the FAWK would you want to play a game full of hackers and BRs calling you a hacker every game when you can play BFBC2? The only reason i'm still playing this game is because I only get 15 fps on it, any other game I get like 2..

I can play HL:2 AND FEAR 2 on this computer with little to no lag...

Play CF, and 3 people in my view and I start lagging, I shoot (or anyone else on the damn map, wither they were visible to me or not...) and I lag. Can hardly play 90% of the time.

My suggestion, well....we need to tell Z8 to tell Smilegate to rework the damn game. Not even the engine, the engine is fine. Just the game.

this is all true and i concur.

i have just noticed that in the early morning, there is no lagg at all, constant fps above 70

after 12:00 the lagg increases , this means it has to do with the amound of ppl that play the game, and that should lead to the problem to their servers, servers are running high, they just need more servers to handle the amound of players that play the game.

and yes the game aint scripted right either ;S

Firstly server problem, more people that play, the more pressure is put onto the server, therefore meaning less fps for everyone. Also you will receive more fps in less crowded games, such as (from my own experience) 150 fps in 1v1's, and -60 in 8v8's. Simply because there is more to keep up with, i.e sound. Also if you believe that your chat is being spammed and causing you to drop significantly in fps, go to the precautions of blocking the macro spammers, or "noobs". Ingame this is easy, press ESC, then block chatting.

I was having a similar problem recently. When I checked my hard drive fragmentation with Defraggler, my drive was 27% fragmented. Might want to look into that.

just upgrade your driver's VGA, because my laptop has Nvidia Gf 8200M, always >80

ive analysed the drive, and there was 0% fragmentation, also my drivers are up 2 date, even tried the beta version of the nVidea cards, no success
