Microphone problem

So I recently got my Logitech gamecom 367 headset. The audio is perfect, no problems there, but whenever I try to talk on ventrilo people keep saying it's either very quiet or just echoing them. If you're good with this kind of stuff and willing to help me out, that'd be great.

Okay, I used a different program to chat and they said they heard me fine, so I guess it's something wrong with my ventrilo settings, but I have no idea what. Any suggestions?

It's yahoo messenger rofl. Was just testing it with my brother, I never use it.
