wth is going on? help me please

Ok, been playing the game for a while now, no problems.
Then today i tried to change my in-game name. seems to have worked fine. my name has changed on the clan web page etc etc. HOWEVER
now the game wont start. the crossfire splash screen comes up, dissapears, and then nothing happens. infact, it just freezes my pc.
any ideas? help please
