The Forward Bunny Hop queries.
Right, I've made this thread to find out as much information as I can about the forward hopping. The technique, mechanics etc.
First things first. I can bunny hop. Only backwards, but this will make it easier for me to learn the forward one I'm guessing.
So my question is, can people start posting on how you would actually go about doing the forward bunny hop. Everything I've read is pretty much foreign and people like myself find it hard to understand them -.-
Thanks

Run some steps, jump and hold crouch, press jump just before hitting the ground. Very good timing is needed for it to be successful. I manage to do up to 3 hops when lucky but it's difficult and I don't actually use it ingame and I don't play as ghost very often to master it. Practice is everything. Goodluck!

EDIT: found it for you: http://forum.z8games.com/showthread.php?t=614&highlight=bunnyhop -
im very close to getting the timing right on this one
been practicing for a few weeks on and off and i find small games in metro are best to practice in ^_^
i usually go in sort of 3v3 games and go to the long parts of the map
ive managed 9 consecutive jumps once ^_^ was very happy about that
like everyone has already said the technique is:
running start, jump, crouch immediately, press space just before you hit the floor each time
you may stay visible for a jump or 2 but will turn invisible after ^_^
hopefully this has cleared some of the mystery around it and that it is possible in all versions of crossfire
EDIT: when i finally upgrade my pc so it can run fraps or something while i play ill make a vid about it ^_^
gonna be a while off though cos im broke :P
by the time i do the vid ill hopefully have it perfect -

Yes, I found other threads hard to understand to.
Thanks[MOD]D34d3y3 4 letting me use sparkles. -
its really pretty straight forward
get a running start, crouch as soon as you jump and from there its all timing on when you tap space again (which should be right before you hit the ground) youll know if your doing it right because you will continue to move fast, if you miss a jump youll lose 80% of your speed. i usually practice it in metro against the long wall where im mostly unbothered.
IGN RockLobstah pm me in game maybe if anyone wants to see it in person, im not pro at it by any means but i can do it in a few tries -

Do you keep on pressing Ctrl (crouch) when you hit tap space again? Or in other word, do you press crouch the whole time or do you let it go as soon as you jump. Thanks, I've been trying to find a forward bunny hop for years.
Thanks to [MOD]D34d3y3 -
cntrl (or crouch if your binds are different) happens immediately after the jump, and you are holding w and ctrl the whole time, you have to be at running speed when you start and from there all you have to do is time when you hit spacebar to keep it moving
i didnt expect a reply this fast, im at work for another 2.5 hours but ill be on around 8:30pm PAC time or thats 11:30 pm EST and i can show anyone in game if they really wanna see. i got vent tooooooo. -

Dude no way your a seconed lt but i cant remember your name
And nah i was just trying to distract you with my cries and you put more shovel kills on me than anyone it was killing my buzz
But good job -
Well here is how I do it:
4TH GEN Bunny is IJ (Invisible Jump Max Speed) it's very hard and requires alot of practice and timing to be done correctly, Like other that have posted a guide on how to preform the IJ, You need a running start. Somewhere between 1-2 secs, After which you need to jump, and crouch(ctrl) shortly after, At this point release the W key and only hold the ctrl(crouch)
And like any other bunny, Jump when touching the ground. This will give you a 4th gen 2nd hop, By now you should be invisible, You normally go invisible after the 2nd jump. Now just jump along with good timing, while holding ctrl(crouched)
I took the time to create this, its sorta rusty and slow but it shows you what you need to press.
(It shows how to do 3 hops)
If you still need help, find me ingame: iPhoenix/Feenix/GundamGuts
4TH Gens Bonuses:
With 4th gen, You don't get fall damage, yes thats correct. No matter what heights that you fall from, if you do 4th gen, your fall damage will be 0. The 4th gen can also be done with holding the W key throughout the whole sequence. I might create another animation showing you how, this is nothing and doesn't effect your bunny but it makes it easier to time your jumps for some unknown reason.
It's best to start your bunny from far away, if you start your 4th gen jump in front of your victim, You will get killed. Most chances are that you will NOT go invisible after the first/2nd jump, most likely 3-5 jumps as beginner, which can get you killed.
Places to practice:
Its best if your absolutely new to 4th gen, to go into small rooms such as 4vs4 and etc, this gives excessive space to practice bunny without being shot. Down side of this method is, smaller rooms most likely have an chammer in hiding.
Best places to practice 0 fall damage would be haken. 4th gen can be done in any of the 4 maps currently provided, But beware of the risk of being seen or even dieing from the fall damage from the maps haken, last relics and metro. -
