If You Are Getting Version.ini Errors Read This

To Anyone With Version.ini Errors:
You do NOT need to reinstall your game. When z8 switched over to their servers the version.ini files were not changed. This file tells the game where to download updates and patches from. Because of this the file still has the G4box servers listed as its GET address.

All you need to do is open your crossfire folder(usually under "C:\Program Files\Z8Games\CrossFire") and delete version.ini. Then re-run the launcher and start the game. This will fix the problem and your game should update normally. I can make an application to automatically delete the version.ini file(if the mods are ok with this, i can make it in batch and you view my source if you'd like) if anyone is having problems doing this.

I JUST did it and it fixed it for me. First i tried changing the GET address to the z8 servers and it didn't help, so i just deleted the file and it started patching. :P

this didn't work when i delete it , it just comes back saying failed to download version.ini
and it makes another file called version.ini

please help it is really annoying

I don't know what to tell you man, it works for me. Only problem is the next time i launch the game i have to delete it again and after that it works again. I would suggest uninstalling your game, downloading the newest version, and reinstalling it to see if that helps. I'm about to do that myself to see if it fixes it for good.
