Adding n "Overwatch Investigator System" to CrossFire

Hi Crossfire Team and players,

I hope you're all doing well! I'm a long-time Crossfire player and truly love this game. The friendships, the competition, and the thrill are what keep bringing me back. However, as many of you have likely experienced, running into cheaters from time to time can really take away from the enjoyment.

That’s why I wanted to share an idea that I believe could make our game fairer and more fun: Introducing an "Overwatch Investigator System" in Crossfire.

As you may know, CS:GO has a successful Overwatch system where experienced players help review suspicious gameplay and support anti-cheat efforts. I think a similar community-driven system could be a great addition to Crossfire.

Here’s a general outline of how it could work:

  • Players who reach a certain rank and level of experience can become “Investigators.”

  • Investigators would review gameplay replays that were flagged for suspicious activity and vote on whether cheating occurred.

  • Reviews and voting would be anonymous, and final decisions would still be made by the GM team.

  • Additional verification steps can be added to reduce false punishments and ensure fairness.

  • Accurate and active investigators could receive small rewards (e.g., profile badges, items).

As it stands, the current manpower to handle reports submitted via the website, in-game, or Discord is limited. This often results in delays and weakens trust in the reporting system. A community-powered review system could help lighten the load and improve response times significantly.

Potential benefits for Crossfire:

  • A noticeable decrease in cheating

  • Increased trust and loyalty among players

  • A stronger sense of community responsibility

  • Faster and more efficient handling of reports

I truly believe this system would greatly improve Crossfire’s quality and help it thrive for years to come. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts and support!

Thank you, and happy gaming!

kdy,

CrossFire Player

  • So gonna be honest but CSGO overwatch was not a success and it was heavily botted and i mean really HEAVILY. not to mention ive said this before but people will have vendettas against each other and already do ingame. You can easily tell who the player is based on their bags or weapons that are in use based on the replay if you play enough.

People already report ingame or make web tickets just because they are mad or upset losing or dying to a specific person.

current ticket creation process feels outdated and takes too long. On top of that, cheaters get to ruin the game for days before anything happens. This delay really hurts the overall experience. A cheater shouldn't be allowed to ruin matches for an entire week. In my suggestion, I tried to explain a zero-budget way to reduce cheating. Honestly, I believe most people in the community would be happy to help out without expecting anything in return.
