Severe lag when game launches?

I've been playing CF for many years and have never had this problem. When I load CF up instantly the log in screen is laggy, so laggy its near impossible to get into a game. But even if I make it into a game, the lag consists. Its like my FPS **** the bed the instant the games loaded. I've uninstalled twice and cant seem to fix it. I have a good computer with decent internet. I put all the settings to lowest they will go and nothing fixes the slow menu load. This only recently started happening.
