lost\deleted email

Hello GM. for all the time a lot of people have registered.

but only a small number of people were able to confirm email.

someone does not play, someone was banned, but there are some people who have lost access to old emails(forgot username and password) or (their mail was deleted for inactivity) ... that is, they cannot change email (access is lost or the mail is deleted but you need to go and confirm). through technical support, they also cannot, you need to know the exact date of registration and enter the date of birth (they entered a random one and forgot). Dear Administration, do not turn your back on these people. help them solve this problem and get the coveted pestolet and ribbon.

• What would you suggest GM's do with these players? If players would need no information whats however to confirm ownership over a account, scamming would only increase.
• Personally, I would like to think of that ribbon as a price to those that weren't stupid enough to use randomized info and loose access to their own mail. Stupidity should not be awarded, it should be pitied and ridiculed so that they strive not to do the same stupid mistake again.

That it was a long time ago and that they were young is no excuse. When I was starting out using the internet and got my first free e-mail, I was extremely careful with writing everything down. Same thing when I begun having accounts for different online games. I actually had (well, Still have, but better alternatives have come with time, that I use as my main archive) a large database on a second PC that I didn't have connected to internet. This was especially important when you had to login to them, so they wouldn't disappear for not being in use.

Why so many accounts on different stuff? Well many F2P games (and member sites) had only a limited time when you could register an account 1 or 2 times a year. So If a friend needed an account to play with you or you needed a new one to try out a new build for your RPG char, you needed extras. I think I had around 100 accs, just for SRO, when I used to play that game.

I mean, good for you on keeping your information this organised and safe. But I do understand OP. I think with him are plenty of others that weren’t careful filling in the information belonging to their account. But I think nothing can be done when so much information isn’t available.

you write full true, but in our world has "second chances" and "last chinese warning". Why so big acoount ? because Russians and other not can play in CF West with new account (IP block region...)
put yourself in the shoes of a person who accidentally found out about this game, played a little and gave up, and now he wants to come back. but in order to play fully, he needs a mail that is not there (ribbon and weapon)
•
ShadowRo;n6935996]Lost access to your registered email is beyond z8 limits so it doesn't matter what is the true : email was deactivated, lost email id + password, get scammed ...etc.

Filling a ticket to change registered email and complete all information you know:
1. on the required fild where you don't have information write N/A , but for date of birth you can write a " / " ( as won't let you write N/A , and if you choose a random date will be compared with information on the database ).
2.on ticket description limit only to your account problem short and sharp, as example : " I lost access to registered email and not remember what date of bith i use, and ... " whatever other infomation you don't remember.

However if support center will close the ticket because are no enough information or not correct , you can't do anything else until you can provide more accurate information, since on terms and conditions the players are responsable to secure all infomation used when create the game account, so z8 can't take any responsability if player lost those information.
that's what I was trying to convey. thanks : However if support center will close the ticket because are no enough information or not correct , you can't do anything else until you can provide more accurate information, since on terms and conditions the players are responsable to secure all infomation used when create the game account, so z8 can't take any responsability if player lost those information
this is a problem to be solved.

but your decision - not to get into a similar situation will not help those who have already)

Thank you so much for reading my topic and writing your opinion. I think that the administration will draw conclusions and help peoples.
I have mail for my account. I try not for myself but for peoples who thoughtlessly lost their mail. but there are many of them (screenshots from the top confirm this)

make a button to delete mail from which is lost. and wait 30 days so that if the theft can be returned. something like that

I wish the IP block could be taken away. As the crossfire community is slowly shrinking, it's redundant. If we don't count CF-China, All the other versions of CF would probably fit into one place. The problem is that the versions have different publishers and don't want to step on each others toes by allowing players from other regions play on their servers. The best thing for us players, would be a global version of CF, but it would be very hard for the companies involved to cooperate.

• I remember [GM]Lasagna saying in a thread years ago something like "Why would any fill in random info when register to a game if they planning to put a money on it?"

Personally I happy it isn't that easy to get accounts from support ,with just correct "semi-info" ,like for example people know my first IGN,friends from facebook can also know my birthday,my forum name...I really happy my account with 50 vips and other players accounts are not in risk,if people with such a lackble info were able to get them so easily. If it was so easy to get an account,it would be a chaos.

By the way ,vitalik, the friend you trying to help has an awfully horrible account,it has bearly awm and scar light and staff sergant rank, just tell him make new one if he wants to put zp in the game.I don't even know why you put so much effort on making such a thread ...
• This theme is a very sensitive subject because we are talking about account security and privacy. Support must keep our confidentiality, integrity, and availability secure. It's not easy to have good privacy and security practices without a good security program. In this case, you must provide them with any and all information they request of you. I know this is frustrating, but that's how they (support team) make sure to give back or return the account to the real owner.

If someone has lost access to its email address and doesn't know the security question/answer, account creation date, and/or date of birth, then it's challenging to get an account back on track. If this is the case, you have reached a dead-end, because if no one can verify ownership of an account, then the support can't help due to privacy and security concerns.

How can you address this problem? You fix one problem, but you generate another because many players will be able to steal accounts with little information.

I would have to agree with SirPano here. The only way a account can be properly secured from now without needing this much information, is to implement two step verification. One can only hope...

not entirely accurate..... make this function only for those who have not confirmed the email.
• I been trying since 2018. A ticket here and there, but I’m one of those who just wanted to play and didn’t think I’d continue to play CF for a long time, so quickly wrote random answers. Never understood how you can make zp purchases with any email, but they won’t accept that email and a screenshot of the receipt as proof.

I skimmed through some some of the replies and “Why would anyone make random info”. All I gotta say is did you really wait until you were old enough to make a Facebook? Lmao

Oh well I guess. It’s good to see the game is still going. Sucks to see how far gone the forums have turned and hardly any familiar faces anymore.
