Settings do not save.

It's been too long since i played this game, i downloaded it today and i'm having an issue when changing my settings it goes back to its default settings for no reason. here's my device info:

Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 18363)
- Memory: 16384MB RAM
- Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz (12 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
- DirectX Version: DirectX 12

PS:
- My Crossfire folder in my documents is missing, and i reacquired it from a friend, but still the settings keeps reverting back to its default settings.
- I have made an exception for crossfire.exe, patcher.exe and for the whole crossfire folder on my anti-virus.
- My username will never be saved although i checked "Remember" box.
- i have reinstalled the game
