As [USER="13275388"]IGN_Galaxy[/USER] says, it's because of so many people are sitting at home using the internet.
Corona is not only a problem biologically, it also hit's you digitally (As people in many countries are working from home and that is also a lot of students) and Economically (A new world-wide depression will be coming soon).
Sweden is one of the least restrictive countries during this crisis, but it looks like even I who work as a multi-village handy-man for old and sick people will have to stay at home soon. As having us travel around 4 people in a car between many places during the day isn't good for stopping disease-spread. Having asthma myself, I'm kind of dreading the disease.
A virus like the Spanish-flu 1918-1920 which made 500.000.000 sick and killed 50.000.000
A economic depression like the one who hit large parts of the world in the 1930s and caused world-wide poverty.

This was due to the lack of interest in one prisoner. Yes, I learned this from history. This world has begun to learn from past mistakes and release some prisoners around the world. -
It's obviously to everyone that after latest patch with new vips and ranked season, servers are unstable alot.
Covid isn't problem because delta server used to be full everyday before this virus outbreak.
Game engine is 13+ years old, servers are almost 10 years old and nothing is done to improve it for players.
Alot of new modes, maps and items are in game and server cannot work properly.
This is my theory, write ur opinion. -

The server are sure old and sometimes crash. Still i think the current situation is caused by the high load on the network in between. -

We are not talking about CF servers being full. It's the whole internet that is overloaded. Everything is slower than usual for most people. I use to be able to download something in 10mb/s, know I am happy to reach half of that. During some hours of the day, Google loads as if I am back sitting with a 56k modem. Youtube videos takes forever to load etc...JackPain (Sweden) -
Here the major isp have enough capacity if not they purchase more. Some smaller isp weren’t expecting an influx of usage and can’t afford to purchase more bandwidth with that said I haven’t had google or YouTube load issues even on my 50/10 DSL connection. Probably because we all connect differently whether it’s cable,dsl,dial up, ffth only ones that aren’t affected when more people are using the Internet is dsl and ftth whereas cable is shared within a neighborhood and faces congestion now i know dsl and ftth don’t face those but is it affected if everyone is on the Internet probably I’m not an expert, but I haven’t had any site slowdown on me yet. (Maybe bc I’m close to the isp CO idk)
If you’re facing teleportation issues, room crashing, or entering server and game crashes keep trying I guess it was like that for me since I last logged two weeks ago was annoying but welp. Now yes they could purchase more capacity or servers but if your isp is overloaded you’ll prob still face same issue(goes both ways). Nonetheless servers being more trash now just have a reason to be now. Lol -

This is due to more people at home during quarantine and curfews, slowing down the net worldwide. You must understand that the world is currently in quarantine due to the Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19). International traffic is saturated (telecommunications networks have been on the verge of overload). Sometimes you and/or we just have to be patient.
Example: Let's imagine that you have been assigned the task of constructing a building. When buying the motor pump to raise the water (let's pretend that the tanks are in a basement level). Do you calculate the capacity of it so that all the apartments can turn on the water taps 24 hours a day and keep up the water pressure at its maximum/stable?
Let us note that, most home connections to the Internet are links called "Best-effort connections" and not dedicated Internet service (business connectivity). These plans are “best-effort” because they’re typically shared data lines amongst many customers. You share the same uplink to your Internet Service Providers as your neighbors, and as such, your upstream link fluctuates with the traffic your neighbors push over that same stream.
This is what is currently happening! Most providers (ISP) do not have the capacity by giving "that" "pressure" to the maximum to all users. -

If network is overloaded connection would be constantly bad BUT here is different. 1 game is perfect, and ping is 24, next is 300 and so on.
Not to mention that I dont have this network issiues with ANY other multiplayer game.
They fcked up something as ussual, waiting for fix. Until then, expect more money grabbing.
I play this game from very beginning and I know how Z8 Games works. Its just sad they fck up whole game with every update.
Servers are heavily outdated. I think its time for servers hardware update which will never happen knowing how greedy CF owners are. -

Why I get 300 ping and Im in central EU? IF network is overloded Connection would be constantly bad, here 1 game is perfect, and ping is 24, next is 300 and so on.

You should know the path of your connection (Traceroute sends a sequence of packets across the network and receives responses from each router in the path). Each "Hop" means a node or a device or a router. By doing this, we know why our latency is increasing.
Unfortunately I can't share the server IP around here. I won't post the server IP over here, just because I'm not sure if that's against the Z8Games&CrossFire terms and conditions. -

It doesn't need to be constantly bad (which it is, as many people have 50-100 more in ping, when the ping is stable), as IT-traffic are not constant. For that to be true, everyone must send and receive the exact same amount of data, every second 24/7. You also must take into account that everyone are not accessing CF from the same country as you and I bet that there are more than one ISP in most countries. CF hardware and Software is old, but saying that the Covid-Crisis doesn't affect the internet, is plain stupidity. Constantly complaining about it, day in day out is childish and unproductive.
If something is to be fixed, it will be fixed when they can. If not, it won't be fixed no matter how much complaining people do. If you can't take how CF is, play another game instead. it's simple really.JackPain (Sweden) -

The topic was talking about one prisoner in the First World War pregnant the virus and the prison administration did not care, so the disease spread among the prisoners until it spread to the outside
