It's an end of the match drop and it's a random drop with other weapon pieces.
Every single one of the games i played and won I received a hypomed and a weapon piece or core (Weapons AA12, SR25, M240, Raging Bull, etc)

Funny enough i got that piece in a stage 1 that i started on my own and finished on +3 because i couldn't find any.
