Random FPS lag

Anyone have a workaround/fix for the random fps spikes i get playing this game? never had them back when i played in like, 2015 "ish". logged on a few days ago and have been experiencing fps spikes/lag whatever you want to call it. it's not constant, but rather random and only for a second or two. as far as i'm aware, i have a pc equipped with more than the required hardware to adequately run this game. is it CF? is it actually my pc? are there any settings i should know about/change? any help appreciated

i know there's still a small competitive community playing this game and i've got a feeling they're not playing with this weird choppy framerate.

PC specs (not the newest stuff but i mean, i can play csgo with 200+ no drops, so this just doesn't make sense)

CPU: i7 4770k
GPU: gtx 980
RAM: 16gb ram (ddr3)
monitor: asus vg248qe (144hz)
currently running cf at 144hz

framrate in game at maximum, but will occasionally "stutter" or "freeze" for a second or two and go back to normal

prob should be posted in support but i figured id ask here anyway since there's probably more traffic through here

Have you tried to run on another game because from time to time the computer gets damaged in the processor or anything inside
the problem of drop fps among many players
I don't know is it a problem in the computer or from the game itself
