Increase the rank limit for the "In-Game Reporting" System

Hi all,

I would like to suggest to increase the current rank (Master Sergeant 5) which is allowed to use the in-game reporting system to First Lieutenant 1.

The main reason behind this is the fact that it's quite easy to rank up to Master Sergeant. Anyone with a brand new account could do within a few weeks or less for that matter. While my solution doesn't solve this issue where anyone can rank up really fast, it does make it harder for the brand new accounts which in turn should hopefully:
  • Reduce the number of hackers with the ability to report in-game.
  • Reduce the number of false reports.
  • Reduce the number of overall reports.
So in the long run, it should have a positive impact on the game which is the goal here.

First Lieutenant 1 is just an example, it could be something higher or Second Lieutenant 1. I don't really mind as long as it's higher than the current one.

Thanks for reading!

Account age restriction would also be a good idea.
Let's say, account must be 1 year old minimum.
  • The more people that are out there being able to report cheaters, the better. Ranking requirement does not stop "false reports". Letting even new players contribute to banning cheaters and giving them a sense of accomplishment and not leaving them feeling like they can't do anything even though they would want to is straight up dumb. Also I have never seen anyone being concerned with false reports in the replay system, nor has anyone asked to make a level requirement for the ticket system where I am sure there are just as many invalid reports. Bottom line is the reports are gonna get flooded with "fake" reports how ever you do it, replays or in game reports alike. If you're not cheating you should be happy that there are now more people able to help clean out the cheaters and in a much more convinient and effective manner.

  • Hi!

Thank you for the concern, but this is not an issue on our end.

I never said this solution would stop "false reports". I said it could reduce it. Going by your logic of "more people that are out there being able to report cheaters, the better", then why is there a rank limit in the first place? Of course there is a reason otherwise, the rank limit wouldn't be there in the first place and it would be open to any rank including smiley's. :D

    [QUOTE=[GM]Lasagnya;n6921517]Hi!

Sure, it might not be a issue currently and that could be because it's only been released for 24 - 48 hours. However, from my point of view, it could very well be a issue in the near future.

At least this will prepare in some way towards that future. ;)
  • Due to GM's generally not revealing how this system works, for obvious reasons, all I will say is the number of reports will not be an issue. If it does become an issue, which is incredibly unlikely, then that is something the GM's will handle. For now I will close this, but we will keep this in mind if we need any input later on in the unforseeable future, and we hope you all will trust that we know what we are doing, even if we cannot reveal inner workings to you regarding such.

Additionally, if we are reviewing the future, please inbox me the lotto numbers for next week, I could use a new ride ;)

    Thanks!
