mp7: is the damage bugged?

just a question, why does mp7 do significantly lower damage than mp5 and p90 even though it uses the same round type? i feel like most of the mp7s are way underpowered... perhaps boosting the damage up so they match up to the p90 or mp5. to be honest ive always wondered this since the mp7-silencer-camo came out and couldnt understand why it was only hitting like 2-5 dmg.
