A Wish Come True: December 11 - December 31

I have read and rated all answers. I came to the following conclusion:
The problem here is the deadline of 03.01. and the lack of information as to why the appointment is not or cannot be kept.
The lack of understanding for this is justified.
Furthermore, it is not logical if you should have a vacation and set the appointment on a vacation day. And should the work be extended in terms of the requests received, this should have been recognized before they fixed the specified date of the 03.01.2020.
Z8 has made organizational mistakes. The community is rightly upset. The defense for Z8 is unsuccessful. Z8 is behind schedule.

I like the way you used law to discuss the issue from a different angle haha. I do the same but difference is I majored in Finance so I talked from that perspective. -
Do you really think that they are reading the wishes? They aren't bothered to improve the game or do something about cheaters, let alone read a bunch of wishes.
They could have at least, posted an announcement about being late, but noo, they just like to keep us in the dark.
Don't be a jerk buddy. If you can't consider the fact that there were thousands of players submitting wishes, you should read this:

Sorry, my bad. I didn't mean to upset anyone.
I know you didn't. The thing is, a lot of people think it is easy managing a game with so many players, so many issues to fix and make regular events to please the community.kanathekunt wrote: »

People like this buddy, who can't even think of how many wishes might have been submitted or how many hours it probably takes to read, understand and maybe even translate those wishes, in order to pick 10 winners out of thousands of players. It's easy to judge other people's work without considering the fact that they're also humans, I've been there too when I was younger and I didn't know how to put myself in someone else's shoes, and I surely regret it. -

You are still too young if you think they are reading all the wishes sent, but I guess Santa Claus exists for a reason so thank you for your innocence! Bless your little heart.
Thing is, you might be just as mature as Z8 if "managing a game with so many players" equals being too hard for them to send one simple forum message (are they stuck in snow at home with no internet? really?) saying that despite setting the deadline on the 3rd they won't finish until 7th or when they come back to the office (which again - is entirely their planning fault). -

I agree. I doubt the community would be as upset if the GMs are putting in effort to establish some form of communication about the Make a wish event. They told us that they will be announcing the winners on January 3rd and it's already the 5th with no update on the matter whatsoever. -

Well I don't really think they're stuck in snow, maybe they're just enjoying their weekend like any other worker is right now (or at least the ones who work monday to friday). You know, perhaps they're too busy enjoying the time off to tell the not-so-smart that the announcement was delayed, because clearly no one can see that. And the thing is, no one has to work extra time or weekends just because you say so.
Also if you think they're not reading the wishes, I was actually one of the winners last year and a few days later Lasagnya still remembered what I had written in my wish. But if you still think you're right, you can also this https://forum.z8games.com/forum/crossfire/crossfire-announcements/previous-announcements/6874812-a-wish-comes-true-december-12-december-26?p=6878400#post6878400 -

Earlier you said it's not easy to manage a game with so many players and so many issues to fix and because of that they don't have time to PROPERLY COMMUNICATE with their community.
Now you say that they literally read through tens of thousands of wishes. There you have it. That's the problem then - they use their time WRONG.
Again, you don't seem to understand that OBVIOUSLY everyone got it that the event was delayed - however it's very disrespectful of them to leave everyone hanging without telling it themselves - THAT is the REAL problem and I keep telling it to the "not-so-smart" for a few replies already but they don't seem to get it, yet the "not-so-smart" you are talking about keep pointing out something.. which I can't descipher but I hope you could help me..

definitely agree with this! Imagine you would be expected of ur boss/ customers to be in the company on a saturday...
Like you guys are enjoying your free time in CF and keep complaining about people, who spend their time wisely -
The thing is - it worked the last few years. The quality of their work decreases more and more. But hey, let's patch a new ZP crate into the game so people spend their Christmas Money here. The lack of information and the total ignorance of the GMs makes this to a really bad problem.

Nobody said that they need to work on saturday - this is only yours imagination. They should let us know at friday 3rd that they will not give us the winner list at time and the event is delayed about (week, 2 or whatever they need). Nobody blame they for delayed event but for no information to whole community "Hey, the event is delayed because there are tons of wishes and we want to be fair to all the players, that's why we need more time for choose the best ones".
This short information at friday 3rd wouldn't hurt anyone. -

There are many possible reasons for the delay, if you can't understand that then I'm not wasting any more time trying to explain you. -

Homie instead of white knighting z8, imagine you were in their place. Would you post an update? Or better yet... would you meet a deadline you set for yourself? -

I've learnt to never judge someone else's work when I have no clue on what they actually do on the backstage. You should try it too, it would make you a better customer and a much better community member -

Looking from the perspective of the devils advocate I could possibly offer a viewpoint.
You're a bunch of meanies.
After being berated with contemptuous and scornful comments for years, mods have become embittered.
I can only guess the dread they feel opening the forum page and getting repetitively castigated.
Words can hurt people on the inside, it might just be a few rude comments from strangers, but
eventually it might get to you.
So to actually answer the question.
From their perspective, I would be disinclined to put my full effort forward for whatever project.
Also I would be likely to go incommunicado because any post or update would be met with disapproval.
Still doing their jobs in other capacities but maintaining minimal contact on the forum.
To be honest, I think they just don't want to talk us anymore is because we have driven them away. Also they might be busy, software issues, hardware issues, issues for everyone and their grammy.
So in conclusion, I have no opinion on the matter, as I don't have all the facts. Nor do I really care. -

Xicooo, I will be as blunt as I can: are you completely illiterate? Adamus89pl explicitely said what makes everyone angry here. NO ONE cares how much they delay it as long as they announce that there will be a delay - do you think you can comprehend that? 10th time's the charm? -

Right??! People just don't understand what really upsets players. Obviously there is ZERO communication regarding this event that annoys players. I always find myself amazed reading these response. They try to be nice, but they seem to have little knowledge about business. -
Hey guys, because you're asking for an update I'll just throw out that yes the winners are taking longer than anticipated, and yes the original date has changed. However to address a few things Ive seen:
-Yes, each individual wish is being read, one by one, and yes many of them are literally "hfklahklahklvhladhvldhalk". So those ones are slowly being filtered out while we read literally thousands of wishes.
-No, GM's do not just make ZP crates to push out. I have said this multiple times but it never seems to stick - GM's do not create the content. We are not responsible for programming, art, etc.
-No, we didn't immediately shout a new date at you guys once we missed January 3rd. This is because when going through this many messages along with usual work, pinpointing an exact date is highly unlikely, and when we have the winners selected we will announce such.
-To the one guy who kindly requested that I die, sorry bud, I've no plans to do that quite yet.
-Yes, we do get orders from above, and no its not 'GMs ignorance' that leads to things taking longer than an original given date.
That being said, if you have further questions, please feel free to send a ticket. We cannot always view every thread on the forum unfortunately, as much as we would love to. This is why we have our moderators, one of which brought this to my attention this morning.
Thanks, guys. -

Thank you very much for the Update, [GM]Kanadian!
The discussion can now end. :-) -
It still baffling to the extent of people.... Le'Sigh.... But it was exactly how i figured it was... Thank you for the reply, and the continued new events and chances to win items over the last while. Haters are going to hate, and i can only imagine the hate you guys face...
Just wish i could change my wish.... i knew it the second i hit send.... but i shoulda asked for that wonderful Remington + Knife i always wanted.... but alas... it was not what i wished for... and my Holiday wish regret... hah
Still, in all the rants i could do... I started this game way in the days where mutant mode had people hiding in boxes was the new thing, or the infamous "auto" glock / Awm hack before the glock was released, This game is a great way to blow off steam in its various modes and you dont need a high end computer to play, so you almost never have to worry about the newest video card or upgraded hardware... in this version..... so its a classic you can take anywhere, and one of the reasons why i support it.
Good luck to everyone! as we all sit by and eagerly await to see who wins, and wait to see them in game so we can test them and their new toys.... hehe... -

GM and MOD are human as well as we as players ,
I do my self a small event and program for even code it take me days to finish it it was holiday ,I mean if we win or not it matter that we join the even and try to win ,I build a friends ship in this game more than a prices i won in total , to enjoy the game you don't need you wish to become truth .
Take it from someone been in this game 8+ years and spend over $4000 on this game, In fact i don't player other games , When I see hacker in the match I join and try to kill em, that way I increase my skills . I don't mind to face any player now.
I never farm and I never hack, I get kick the most of the time from matches , PLAYERS who complain are the most of the player still 10-14 years old they never know what is CF west about.
GM Kanadian don't worry about the negative comment they won't change the game and how much we enjoy it.
Thank you, GM and MOD and happy new year.

For the first time in 11 years I'm actually ashamed to be part of this community.
So many entitled ingrates expecting GMs to work through their holidays reading your Christmas wishes or keeping you updated on why the event is delayed. News flash, this is just a job to them, they don't share your unhealthy obsession with this game and don't owe you their person/family time.
How many of you chose to work during Christmas/new year when you weren't obligated to? No one? Yeah, i thought as much. Though who am i kidding, half of you sound like you've never worked a day in your life and have absolutely zero understanding of how personnel within companies are managed under corporate. Your either hermits or children if you think that companies not meeting deadlines is something that doesn't happen on a daily basis.
At this point I'd genuinely rather them close the event without picking any winners than reward these keyboard warriors going ballistic over some dumb pixels. Would really show peoples true colours. -

Completely agreed. CF community needs to understand basic etiquette. -

Wrong, it's common sense for 10 people (dunno how many they are and that's not important) to keep thousands of their players updated on why the event is delayed once they set a deadline.
"it's just a job to them" ??????? you'd better not say that to your employer when you are late on something this says much about you and how you were raised - to not give a damn about completing the task on time (or at least man up and say that you won't be able to do it on time) if you are getting paid anyways.
The only thing you should be ashamed of is your attitude towards this situation, but I guess this is why we are the only version of CF that has these sweet Black Market win rates, because of you and everyone like you

Hey everyone, remember when I've said that no one will get a single "sorry" (for not announcing that the event is delayed) from them when they eventually show up? Common sense, everyone, common sense. -

I'm nearly speechless, the sheer level of incredulity that i'm feeling is astounding. So I can really only formulate one thought as of now.
WHAT?
Im going to try and take this apart bit by bit.
Starting with the 10 people part.
However many devs, mods, GMs, or other staffers there are. They all have a boss. Up until the CEO that is beholden to the shareholders.
I'm running on the assumption that workers were waiting for an order to come down the pipe line. Literally allowing or disallowing them posting an update.
Actuality or not? I have no idea.
Then you reached waaaay back into the filing cabinet to pull out the, "You weren't raised right", comment. Going after dear ma and pa.
I believe "work ethic" is a product of nurture and nature. Nature being your biological make up and predispositions givens thusly. Nurture being the environment you've grown up in, here's where parental teaching and all outside stimuli formulate who you are. I believe that all of the outside stimuli overshadows what your parents have instilled into you through both genetics and being raised in that household. All of your schooling, friendships, and other social contact are a much bigger influence than anything else.
In your formative years I think you learn what work ethic is, and decide how it applies to you. Through the years the lens through which you see it may change. But your core value is still the same.
Work ethic isn't everything.
There are tons of motivators to complete a job, money, satisfaction, passion. Yet, those are moot when there is a blockade in the way
of progress that can't be moved. Tech Issues? Staffing Issues? Bureaucratic Issues?
If iv'e worked all year and have a 2 week vacation stipulated in my contract, there is nothing stopping me from taking it.
Provided my job is safe and there are no pertinent matters to attend to.
Next up: Attitude
I assume you are painting us as Mod and GM Sympathizers. A terrible crime I know.
Next up: Apology
Why would they ever say sorry. Really? Generally this forum seems to exist to berate mods.
