Change the events

I have been participating in almost all events since past few years but now time has come to shed light on issues which need your attention. Please change the event tasks which are becoming ridiculously boring and tiresome. Recent events have become soo toxic that no one can do it without farming. You know what does it mean when you have to farm in an online competitive game... It feels like I am doing some kind of part-time job instead of playing game to kill stress, Why would I have to win 33 GM/Shadow Mode games in just 11 days? Why should I have to play for 1 hour each day?

Why we are required to do 333 escapes in 20 days of a mode which is stupidly boring, long and childish? Only way to get Hide & Seek Ribbon is through farming but why should I have to sit for soo many hours on my ass for a single ribbon? Am I working in some kind of company or firm? We have a life too I just play this game for fun. I used those events as examples. There were many events this year which were quite painful so do the needful.

On additional note: Amount of Hackers in Ranked games have increased and they use many different kind of hacks. Please do something against this issue too.

  • soon, the "White knights" will start saying stuff like: "But you dont have to do the events, its not required..its optional. Or my favorite one: "But its for a ribbon, it must be hard and challenging."

Yea, i agree..these events are just..nope. You feel like..you HAVE to do it..instead of you MIGHT for some sweet reward..If they made some actually Good reward..like some skin, some "new" stuff..grenade, knife..anything on perm..ok, make it challenging, make it hard to accomplish..but boxes of weapons noone will prob ever use? Thats just..little sad..i appreciate that u r trying to keep it alive..but this isnt the way..
  • 1 hour a day isn't too bad... but actually playing 33 HMX, GM, and horror would take more than 1 hour. even farming takes awhile... who has time to farm that many games
  • Kinda new player here but that shouldn't matter at all because it doesn't invalidate what I'm about to say:

The events are getting kinda ridiculous I agree.
They should be something to bring hype to everyone and not make players go "ugh so many (insert farmlists)".
They should be something to promote the players to play the game and in best case scenario, maybe make players invite/bring more players to the game.

I made a post in which I critic the Graves Games and also give a suggestion how they could have been better in the "New Ribbon: Horror Hide & Seek" thread so I won't repeat it here.

To the dumb arguments of type: "You can't expect free crates/ribbons without trying hard"..., Mate,
1 - Not every ribbon/crate needs to be the hardest badge to collect.
2 - Making the playerbase get burnt out is the worst for the game. I started playing like 2-3 months ago and I had been trying to push my friends to play in the first weeks. How can I convince them to play with me a game that they don't if I don't even have time to show them the game besides completing the farm events and honestly I dont even play that much now besides events because it's just too much for me.
3 - Not everyone has your free time. Man, I do consider myself lucky for having a bit of free time unlike some of my friends but even I, who doesn't apply himself that seriously professionally, don't have time to participate in all these crazy events.

Kinda in a rush right now and losing my thoughts but I'll add later anything that I might have wanted to add to this post.
  • Yeah, I did everything but the GM part of the Halloween event. If something says win, I am out. With everything going on on the servers, a winning goal takes 10 times longer. I am not up to play 500 GM teamed games in 11 days (Which it might take to complete this as it looks). Not having even a chance to be able to reach the goal only makes you feel depressed and not so exited to play the game. Same thing with last year's 10 days of Christmas which was chaos. Putting parkour and making you have to finish the games as a part of the other stuff, was mean and idiotic. I am not saying that just because i personally hate parkour. But because only a small number of players plays parkour regularly = Only a lesser number of players will have a chance to win the ribbon. Same-thing with having win x number of King-Mode as a part of an event, there is only one king per game. It will only make players cheat, farm and get fed up with the game.

I am good at grinding games, so for me personally, I have no trouble when it is kills or just play (for times played or for time), but please don't do a win event again, especially for Ribbons that so many people want. An event shouldn't be a competition that only a handful can finish (without cheating or heavy farming), everybody should be able to finish it (It doesn't have to be easy, just realistic goals). Real competition can be done in ranked or championships. I know several players that left because they just lose the will to play CF, things like this is not helping.

I have no trouble with the prices for this last event as i like collecting stuff, it doesn't have to be crates with super awesome skinned weapons or a perm weapon as a price. (I wouldn't say no to such prices though:)) A ribbon should not be considered a trophy, but more of a merit badge that you get for having taken part of the events (Being an active player).

I am usually pretty optimistic, but the last couple of months has made that impossible. I love CF and I hope there will be change, so there is still some reason to keep playing.

About hackers, it's not only ranked that has seen an influx. today I played a lot of FFA and there were 1 diffrent "under the floor surfer" in every room i joined. + kids getting one-hit kill head-shots every shot, in most of the FFA rooms. It hasn't been this bad since I transferred from EU. As you can't report them they will also probably keep coming.:(

  • I came back to CF after an incredibly long hiatus and was met with this event. It's incredibly nostalgic coming back but this event definitely evoked memories of why I quit this game in the first place. I came back feeling a renewed sense of passion and after getting through this event all I can say is I'm slightly burnt out. I'm not asking for events similar to daily and weekly quests but at the same time forcing players to treat crossfire like a job to get through an event just leaves a bad taste.
  • +1
I am also sick of such events, I don't like events which required a lot of grinding, and it takes you all free time
An example would be a recent event which required to play 33 HMX games
And let's not forget rewards, some events which offer 1 capsule are laughable
Also, I have the same opinion about events which offer 5 capsules after it's done, with such winrate we have its laughable
  • these ribbons they bring back are always harder to get. I had to look back at what the past GG requirements were and they were a little easier https://forum.z8games.com/forum/crossfire/crossfire-announcements/previous-announcements/338411-grave-games-october-11th-to-october-24th

still 33 GM wins and 33 HMX games but didn't have the horror mode which takes a long time and the zm clears were easier since people did easy fatal cannon which counted towards the community goal.

Wow, I consider this a really good critic that support staff should take seriously in count, there are several potential players that might join our community, but having things like this Grave Games or other events where you need to spend a lot to get rewarded... this just spook them away.

I'm a veteran player and whenever there is an event that I like, I work hard towards it and yes... it requires a lot of effort and time in most of the events, but well, that's my decision to make.

I will visit your suggestion and support, we should get really nice events that does not require to play boring modes, maps, wins (like Hammer mode event was really fun or Parkour).

Well at the end, its our decision to choose which event to do or NOT (for all the player base with many years), but definitely will make potential new players think twice about spending their time in CF West instead some other games out there.
  • That was really good input guys. I hope one of the GMs read and implement some, if not all, of the productive points made by the community for the betterment of the game.
