GMs should add 2-3 hours to maintenance time estimates.

Whenever servers go down for maintenance the GMs always give a projected timeframe for the downtime. These are always, without fail, wrong. Usually by 1 or 2 hours if not more.

So, GMs, whenever you're writing up a maintenance announcement post for twitter, the forum, discord, etc and you get to the part where you give an estimate for how long the maintenance will take add 2-3 hours to whatever your original guess is. That will always be the more accurate estimate.

Honestly I really don't care since they post an update when the maintenance is over. If you ask me they can just leave the estimated time away.

We actually always add extra time but some issues that can happen during maintenance are just unforeseeable, and this is when you see us go in overtime.
In general, we always try to give an accurate estimate and rather open earlier than planned.
