What are GMs?

So. I am confused. What are GMs in this game?
I am kinda a veteran online player. Played MMOs and stuff since early 2000s. Almost every game I used to play had GMs. Those were like server police, moderators and guys who could do stuff normal players couldn't. They were basically guys with the console enabled and were volunteers hired by the devs. They were below actual server admins and devs.
But here it seems GMs are the actual game devs and are in charge of what the game has and does. Is this correct? or are GMs just volunteers and kinda the "police" with benefits?
Do GMs actually code the events, or do they just announce them? Everyone acts like GMs are actually coding the CF West part of the game.

GMs are pretty much what it stands for but they aren’t the developers, not sure how much they code though. They of course have bit more power than normal players, they aren’t volunteers they part of the publishing company Z8Games and get paid. Updates are pushed by developers then GMs run that update, things like events depending on rewards are usually all by GMs.

If you played runescape they similar to JMods where certain GMs do different works while both games are owned by developers. Only difference is JMods in runescape actually run the entire game from updates, new quests, designs, coding etc.
