If you are going to play other zombie maps than the elemental temple, i would suggest using the AK from crater-dawn instead. I just upgraded mine to gold, and it's devastating, both against regular monsters and bosses. I think i never cleared Devastated City as fast as i do now. If i look at other players the M4 is ok against regular monsters (Does almost no damage to bosses), but the AA12 and P90, still seems to be better for ZM1 maps, if you don't have an upgraded AK.

There's different ways to look at the this M4 laser damage situation and sadly, I dont know which one of them is the real one, or if there are more:

1. You would not expect a free weapon to be better than paid to win/paid to obtain permanently weapons (aa12buster,p90 wild shot, the knight; and of course, their temporary variants for everyone) in all of zombie modes. Sure, you need jewels to upgrade it to the maximum and jewels, unless you already have all of them from trying to win the Laser, you have to buy them

2. The new ZM map is supposed to be hard. But it is hard in a gimmick-y way: you need this one specific weapon for the best result, so it's purpose it is only to aid you in defeating it (Im talking about the present, not upcoming maps yet)

3. This is somewhat tied to number 2., that gimmick is the fact that the boss "takes" a special/different kind of damage that only this weapon deals/register, through the laser. The previous bosses do not require and/or cannot "read" the special damage that the laser deals, so you're not dealing extra damage in the other zombie mode maps, or you are even dealing less damage than with other weapons. Because they (developers) did not take this into consideration.

PS: these are entirely my opinions and they might aswell be wrong

I want AK47 Buster Gold as powerfull as M4 laser in Temple! It is so bullsh*t. It is precious gun!

But yes I agree the m4 should be buffed against bosses as well and not only be good against regular zombies ( in cf china this m4 takes half of golihat/nightmare life with just 1 laser charge ) ;(

but then the ak buster needs to be 2 times stronger then m4 because the m4 laser has healing and slowing down effect on all enemys the laser pierce through and the ak buster have just damage dealing nades that explodes 3 times on same spot and even do now with the 3 explosion same dmg like aa12 buster nade
