Questions about those deleted maps

E.g. Tranquility and Mall.
Can anyone tell me why these maps were removed from the game without any announcements?

  • The removal of these maps was announced in this patch: http://crossfire.z8games.com/patches/May2018 check under "System changes & bug fixes". From what I've heard the GM's only said that they were removed because the developers said so, more information isn't available. My guess is the developers no longer felt te need to keep these maps up to date since they weren't played as often as for example Rooftops and wanted to focus on new content rather than old.

    Same story here, since they released Mutant Escape they probably no longer felt a need to keep these modes up to date. I myself really enjoyed Mutant vs. Knights and was very sad to see it removed.
  • Mall should be a MM that gets a 2.0 update. I thought Mutant Knight was good too and was always hoping they'd make other maps for it. Maybe it'll make a comeback like bombing mode just became knocked down mode.

    A 2.0 update for mall would be VERY cool. Making it all shiny and clean like Resort for example.. Mutant Knight was super bugged before they removed it, I understand they rather focus on Mutant Escape instead of fixing it, though I hope they once will.

    Thanks dude! It was indeed probably a choice that came from the Developers.
  • The only reason rooftops is the most played map is because it’s a default mode map. If they put some simple random map generator upon creating a room, you’d see a lot of other maps in the lobby. It’s sad that SnD - DS, DT, Mine, Santoria or Ceyhan can’t even be found today.

    exactly. Thats why +50 % of all SD rooms are eagle eye even though the map itself is plain boring. Most of players dont know how to change the map or just dont bother chaging it after years of playing crossfire. Typical for CF playerbase.
  • I was sick of ee maps since theres so many in NA so I thought people just didn’t know how to change maps and tested by making snd room and default was refinery. I guess the majority know how to change it but just want eagle eye. I miss how it was few years back actual variety in snd maps.
