A fix to all our problems

Game's community is in shambles at the moment, and rightly so.

Simple fix to this problem is to produce a road map for the rest of the year, 6 ish months left, allowing you gms could tell us what and when to expect something.
A lackluster one would allow us to give suggestions, a decent one would mean yous have to keep to your promises, and if not, the more reason for people to keep complaining and the prolongation of the inability for gm minis and the casual community to get along.

Simple solution to all of our problems, I and the people who can see the problems will get hopefully less reasons to complain and the community as a whole, we may end up being able to find it easier to get along.

Gm reply would be appreciated.

• Mind explaining?

Sure. I wasnt laughing directly at you. Its just too naive to expect such a huge effort on their side. Let me give you a fine example. This forum has broken features that could actually be fixed quite easily even by an amateur. Do you see it fixed by GMs? No. So how do you expect a roadmap?
Its a good thing that you suggest it and I support you but... Lets be honest like many other things it will never happen. Even if it does it will change all the time *wink-wink*
• Oh good, made the post to see if gm's gave a <removed> or not, and the answer is as i thought, a no.

Thought they might have learned their lesson from all the complaints but of course not.

Z8 NA is by far the worst joke of a company ive come across. If this state of the game was on steam, this cow fart of a game would be gone ages ago.

They know that this is true and so do you.

Dude, I liked your suggestion but it will not gonna happen. This game has lot of issues and the record or logs they have are not accurate. I ask you, and every other player, who do events to at least take 5 screenshots and make a video as an evidence. I did "rob the bank" event and they didn't reward me my crates of last 2 days of the event and told me that I didn't do it when I really played for 90 mins each on both days. My 180 mins gone to waste and many other players came forward with same issue but they didn't bother to listen to our concerns. That's how this game works. They don't care about their players. They asked me to submit tickets and, when I did, they responded with the the same response. On top of that, they closed my thread on the topic and the another thread made by someone else too. None of the threads had crossed the limits. They just wanted to shut our mouths to not let us spread the truth about their failures.

I gave up on writing supp tickets as they are a waste of time. What should we do? Record all our event matches? With what? Last week I read that most recording software is somewhat blocked. So what do we record it with? Our phones? On top of that it seems I am banned :D

You gave them 1 day... On a weekend, which they don't work...

Discord seems active enough, and i wasnt expecting a reply anyways, something that means they have to actually manage a game and have actual goals is kryptonite for them.

Neither am i expecting a reply now, if there is one, it will probably be about this reply rather than the suggestion.

... or the usual talk with no actual meaning.
• The EU GM's actually had a Product Manager that would make a statement every few months about current issues and future plans. Though the transparency was nice and some things actually got changed, most things wouldn't be implemented. I rather have a GM team being not transparant at all than fob us off with something.

Do they not work on mondays either?

We dont get a single thing of what you just mentioned.

Yeah, s###ty of them either way.

Still waiting on that gm reply, Bunni made it seem like id get a reply on a work day, so im still waiting on that, fingers crossed!

Except today wasn't a workday. It's 'Victoria Day' holiday in Canada right now (national Patriot's day in Quebec) which is why our event is 'Regal Rewards' and on the tracker says Victoria Day event.

But sure get your point. You likely won't get a timely reply but even if you did it won't be what you want because what you want is rather pointless for the GMs/Z8 to set up as the Devs control the release schedule of new content and while Z8 likely knows what is PLANNED to be released within a 2 month window things could change on them even. and any bugs/issues that are being worked on won't have a tentative finish time. Though an acknowledgement of bugs/issues they know about that are positively client side and are in the queue would be nice.
I will agree though with the forums thing said above. that is purely on Z8 there and is amazing how it's been this long without it getting truly fixed or another theme set up. While it's not as quick and easy as stated by someone else, especially if done right, it also isn't that long and one person with even a modest background in it should be able to have handled at least setting up a theme within a few days especially considering if they reached across Client versions to the other teams in their same building for CF BR and CF ES who have VERY nice looking forums and could have borrowed some of the image designs needed from them for a quick implementation with tweaking done at a later time to make it unique to CF West.

There is more to be said here but most of it would get ignored by either party anyways especially when one of the people involved is one that says he's telling the truth about something but can't even tell the truth about why he got his temporary ban and still claims it's for calling someone a camper. so like *shrug*

what a coincidence on the date lmao.

As useless as my proposal is, i dont see the gms doing anything to make the game better, complaint after complaint and they dont care, just replying every now and then with something about tickets. Being in this toxic state is fine because money is all that matters right?

If they dont do anything, we may as well help them out by giving ideas since they seem unwilling or incapable.
• Thank you for your suggestion, and I personally think it is an interesting one (however I don't believe it will be "A fix to all our problems").

So there are different things to talk about, I will try to summarize:

- In terms of new contents (let's say new modes, maps, etc.,) it is difficult to provide a long term roadmap for a specific reason, our version like many is now almost caught up with China. Meaning that unlike before we had different modes that were not implemented in our version and we get to choose, but now we wait on finishing development and testing of new stuff. I am sure you understand why many developers would not like to share what they are working on because sometimes plans changed or simply they don't work

- If it is a roadmap for specific issues or problems, that is sort of doable assuming those issues are fixable

So I think the best way to start is to decide on what will this roadmap lead to, and what type of information in it will be helpful to you as a community member.

This, this sounds good, a roadmap for bugs you intend to fix will be quite informative for us all and hopefully it will help us get stuff fixed faster.

^ dont know why it sounds sarcastic, but its not

Long term plans on fixing some of the most gamebreaking bugs in CF West would truly be helpful.
• Alright, so let's start an initial discussion. What are the most game breaking bugs in CF West in your opinion and in which order?
•
Grumpy;n6896923]Alright, so let's start an initial discussion. What are the most game breaking bugs in CF West in your opinion and in which order?
You'd have to survey the community to figure this out properly but if you'd ask me they'd be the following:
1. A lot of people are currently having issues with ranked errors
2. A lot of people are having issues with their FPS (I personally don't so have no clue if the implemented FPS optimization option works)
3. I've heard people complaining about some of the collection namecards not displaying properly for a very long time
4. There was mention of some ribbons being bugged (clanwar ribbons, HMX ribbons)
•
Grumpy;n6896923]Alright, so let's start an initial discussion. What are the most game breaking bugs in CF West in your opinion and in which order?
Deffinetly it is the vip char kick which makes people to spamm with snipers like it is pistol. Honestly I dont get why that still aint removed because its so gamebreaking to the same point as using hacks.
•
Grumpy;n6896923]Alright, so let's start an initial discussion. What are the most game breaking bugs in CF West in your opinion and in which order?
1. Chinawalk, basically holding A or D while tapping constantly W or S, you move without doing any noise and its used by many players in ranked because if you don't use it then you have a high disadvantage against someone who does. I've heard its been patched in cf china.
2. Vip character kick spam with barret or any snipers.
• One not so recurring but still annoying issue is when the dude is mid air and takes no damage from a sniper shot even barrett, basically you jump youre invincible (a bit exagerated but still)
now maybe that has to do with tick rate or stuff like that, so in this case im not sure thats an easy and quick fix for you guys but thats the thing that came to mind after the massive ping issues lately (which seemed to be better today?)
•
Grumpy;n6896923]Alright, so let's start an initial discussion. What are the most game breaking bugs in CF West in your opinion and in which order?
not sure if it's really server issue or game issue itself. But more and more over the last year the rate in which shooting someone and it not registering damage has gone way up as has taking cover behind a wall and only to get killed by someone on the other side after like 2 seconds even. The game/server just seems to handle lag VERY poorly anymore. Years ago before CF BR laggers would just freeze in place and still take damage. Now they freeze in place for a bit but are invulnerable and then snap to somewhere else before becoming vulnerable to damage. Often causes you to waste bullets and time on them and gets you killed as well. At some point it changed. That's something that constantly bugs me...and I'd say it's part of the largest divide amongst the community with people ripping into people from other regions due to their lag from higher pings. But this seems to go beyond just them having higher pings and is more related to the game/server as it'll even happen in a match full of people with lower but pretty even pings.

Beyond that i'd say i'd things like what Goldenlight has highlighted are fairly important ones as they are pretty over abused.
I'd say beyond that the HMX ribbons still seem to be bugged and I believe i've heard the ribbons related to clan war are bugged as well.* (EDIT: I just noticed on event tracker and ribbons that the HMX ribbons have had "Within the last 30 days" added to their progress which wasn't there before. I guess this was a fix that was forced in as a change to the ribbon so that it'd work?)
Forums are something that have remained broken now for quite some time with announcement threads that when made visible to players either give an error or just send us straight to the forum home and in regular posts will often not actually show the person who has most recently posted in the thread. I was personally hoping that the forum maintenance yesterday was going to be the one that solved that but so far from what i've seen it hasn't, though maybe it was more back end work that will lead to it...

And as a general thing if an issue occurs with an event or event tracker (to which it seems the tracker messes up at some point on more than 50% of the events with trackers) to just have more forward information/acknowledgement across the social platforms would be good for the community. I think this is something that has particularly caused strife and been a complaint point among those who frequent the forums. Though unfortunately a lot of the time when the tracker fails it's on the weekend which is of course a problem for timely acknowledgement.
• Ping spikes from server lag. This is constantly misinterpreted as FPS drops because people either don't know the difference, or don't have a good enough handle on English to explain it. It causes hits to not even register damage as Ixith pointed out above. It causes players to appear to run in place before it stabilizes, at which point it looks like they're teleporting, which is infuriating in Mutation modes. People even wait for it to happen before rushing as Mutants. I have run circles around 200+ ping players emptying entire mags into them only to end up dead when it resolves without even knowing what happened. In Zombie maps it results in you just being dead without seeing how it happened. It always happens when players with high ping join or leave a game, and happens in game when the servers struggle to synchronize everyone. It's gotten progressively worse to the point where the game actually ran smoother three years ago. Back then I had a crappy computer that my new one blows out of the water, and my internet connection was not as good then as it is now as well. On every website and app I use to test my ping, it holds steady to within 4 miliseconds, so there is no way spikes of 2-300+ ping are happening because of something on my end. I certainly don't get them with any of the other games I play. Upgrading the servers would be a MASSIVE improvement, and it would stop a lot of the pointless hate threads from people who don't even know what's happening and just parrot what they heard someone else say.

People who are having FPS, speaking for myself don’t have ping spikes. Server lag for me is like what yo said can appear as your moving but in reality standing still, can’t switch from rifle to pistol without huge delay happening, outsync audio when you shoot, emptying clips to someone standing still and my ping would shoot up from 40s to 200 plus. FPS is none of those it just goes from 120- 50 sometimes 2 making gameplay choppy and feels like a slideshow all while ping remains the same, so to someone who isn’t tech aware with terminology like myself would say it’s fps. When I came back it was okay went away for three weeks then came back again.
