I am having the same problem, with the file name has been changed or forged, this is the first time I have ever gotten this and it seems there is no end in sight for it. I did all the things it said to do in the tech support post and nothing worked, i downloaded the new installer and installed and uninstalled about 27 times with no effect, if anyone can come up with a fix it would be appreciated. It's crap like this that keeps this game from being one of the best mmofps games ever made. I also agree that before Z8 when the Subagames company had Crossfire things were much better hardly any of this crap going on and no one's frame rate dropped from 50-80 to 7-14.

what made mine work
ok i just got mine to work after forged at 25% here is steps i took and did so many times
this worked on xp
uninstall
delete the cross fire folders under
Documents and Settings\
and where you installed game c:\program files\z8games or something like that.
make a bat file or del manual
some may need to change c: to there main hd letter but c: is most common
del c:\WINDOWS\system32\npptNT2.sys
del c:\WINDOWS\system32\GameMon.des
del c:\WINDOWS\system32\nppt9x.vxd
if your not sure, always back up keys before you delete!
run regedit search game guard, crossfire, del those keys
main ones will be
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\n pggsvc
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\N PPTNT2
if there not there, don't worry
restart computer
Disable Virus Scan, any adware watchers ect.
Install with 1028 version from site, just change the path you install to so if
it installs to say c:\program files\z8games\crossfire change it to
c:\program files\z8games\cross-fire or some other location
run game and might just work now also i did this a few times before it worked

m8 ive done this like 3 times already and nothing...
i tried to run the game from my laptop and it rans perfectly
so i copied all files and cracked em on my original Z8games folder on ma desktop.... nothing happens!
im gonna try a different antivirus m8!

i am a pc geek and have played all versions of crossfire and have been monitoring z8 games and it looks as though you will have no way of fixing this, it has happened in all versions and most of them come from just OPENING a link to a hack...i am not sure how that could make an impact but alot of the problems similiar to yours have been from hackers or people attempting to hack but to stupid to undertsand directions. If you look at it like me, go to your downloads and clear it then time it out for a little and redownload cf, restart pc then try.

Yes (this happened after the patched),
Prior to the Patch, we played Smoothly but now ... grrrrrr
My friend has this Problem too! File name has been Forged thing............
No matter how we install/reinstall,same thing happens.
Any solution, pls post, tnx
