Not Enough Diskspace?

I was trying to install CF on my new laptop yesterday, just moving it from my PC to the laptop didn't work as for whatever reason the mouse had some weird displacement issues and didn't point where it actually pointed.
Now I was trying to download it, got 100GB left on my ssd but the installer instantly tells me that I don't have enough space.
What do I do? I'm on Windows 10 btw.

  • Try to download it into your desktop instead of other folder. It might work.
  • For whatever reason today it worked just the normal way even though I tried restarting before. Anyways some error popped up half way through downloading, twice, and I decided not to bother with it anymore. Brand new ridiculously expensive laptop, definitely meeting the requirements, no viruses or other junk and it's close to impossible to get the game to work lmao..

Check so you have the newest drivers for everything. Seems to almost always be the problem when having problems with something new. As you expect everything to be up to date from start or installed via windows update or any update suit that the pc have for Graphics and such. Graphic card drivers, hard disk drivers, bios, motherboard, network drivers. DirectX, net framework, Microsoft visual C++, etc.
Might also wan't to check so your anti-virus or firewall don't cause problem. I would also do a disk check to see that there isn't some fault with your hardware directly from the store, one can never be sure. To my experience, a new install or new computer will always have som trouble from the start. It takes a little while to get it set up so it works as you wan't it. You can always google the error.

  • Thanks for all the tipps, might try it out when I'm in the US next month as I got fast internet there. Downloading 3 GB takes me like 5 hours here in germany and it's kinda annoying if all that progress just gets overwritten as soon as I have to start over again.
But the drivers are all up to date, that was the first thing I made sure to do when I got it, plus microsoft's own products generally download the important stuff automatically over the Windows update settings.
  • Microsoft also has a tendency to release updates that [removed] up their own products sometimes. So don't trust Windows-update automatically just because it's their own products. I have mine shut off and only update when i must. I kept having problems after almost every time i updated, new problems just kept popping up. Since i shut it off, almost no problems.

Then again, it's either microsoft screwing up their own surface line in a matter that only conflicts with CF as everything else works flawlessly, or the CF installer just being ancient and making problems. I for one am willing to bet it's the latter lol.
I'll see what I can do next month.

Yeah that is the most probable cause. Z8 should invest in a large scale update soon (and maby better quality severs), before it is too late, and nothing will work. It won't be cheap, but it's better to invest now, then to wait and end up in place where the game can't run at all. I hope the GM's manage to persuade the Z8 owners to pay up.
