Regarding Giving Consent To SmileGate To Use Your Personal Data

I've noticed there is now an option to check off on the signup page which asks for your consent for SmileGate to use your personal data. I tried looking through privacy settings to opt out since existing accounts never had that option. So wondering a GM could tell me how I can opt out or if there is a mod who knows something about this, thanks.

  • They don't have your personal data, maybe they mean login, password, ecc.
Imo they can use this info without your permission so sweet dreams my friend and don't give up :)
  • Weird why they would need my consent for that if they say all accounts are owned by them... lol. Hope someone with more information can charm in.

should add only reason I ask because a Korean owned game I currently play manually set everyone as they consent to their data use and were sharing that with third party.
  • Well they could have access to your security question, which does contain personal data. They might also have access to your messages on forum, other than that I can't think of any other personal data specifically shared in CF.

By playing this game you accept CF TOU, I don't think you can decline some articles of the TOU and still play.
  • Of course everyone game stores the registered accounts infos not denying that. Just skimmed through their terms and seen a new section about data, apparently they now store anything from ip, device you use, ingame data bunch of stuff pretty much. Only thing I'm curious is I made a dummy account right now and was able to successfully make one without consenting to the personal data usage part, so i'm guessing we do have an option to agree or disagree and still play but can't seem to find an option for existing accounts prior to all this.

Well if you're able to you do it on a new account and because of the new privacy laws I think you can try to send a support ticket asking to decline these terms. It might work, you never know.
  • There was a popup in-game after one of the recent patches which asks for your consent to use your data. Before you could play, you had to either accept or decline. I just tested it on an alt and even though I accepted it on my main, it wouldn't let me continue until I either accepted or declined it. I declined it just to see if it let me in, and it did.

I had this appear on my main when I logged in after the patch, so you would have to. Regardless, if you disagree, you can withdraw at any time like it says above by visiting your account page and unsubscribing from the newsletter by the looks of things.
  • Ohh never expected it to be ingame thanks for the reply
