having problems with resolution and fullscreen

hello i installed crossfire today a little bit for the nostalgia and after installing and opening the game i was having a problem with the resolution. i tried to change the resolution and to full screen and the game didnt allow me to it. i would save the changes and it always maintain the same error. please try to help me so i can play this game again

Hello, my name is Illidann, and i've played crossfire since i was a little boy. I really love this game, and i really want to play it so bad, and i just got this new pc so.. the thing is i installed Crossfire NA yesterday and when i went to play it, everytime i started a match, the resolution would just change to one crazy thing, i could only see my weapon, i couldn't see the entire screen and it really bothered me because i really want to play Crossfire but it won't work properly. I tried to change the resolution but that issue was happening all the time. Also, the game would shut down every now and then for no reason.
