I know this has been posted like 10 times but i have a question. Mods have posted that they are aware of the issue. So can we get a guess about how long it will be down? Maybe what caused it? thanks.

The GM's and what not are off for the weekend. It will probably be tuesday.

No longer then monday. Most likely up again today. Only speculations of course, MODs are MODs, we have no access to the servers.

No, nobody knows what caused it nor will it ever be published. Probably just a faulty login server.
Happened a few times before, fixed with a simple server reboot.
