First of all, security question to what? I have yet to come across any service where the security question is someone's birthday. City of birth sure, but not birthday.

Second of all, for Z8 account recovery, birthday is just one of the information needed. Just having someone's birthday will not allow you to recover their account.

Thirdly, you also need the year in order to verify the birthday. Yes, people can do the math if you ask someone for their age, but the year is not a requirement in this thread. In fact, it is specifically stated that you should not disclose the year. In addition, you won't find any posts that have the year, because if a mod or GM sees it, it will get removed immediately.

Lastly, the purpose of this thread is to celebrate people's birthdays. People who want to post here will post here, people who don't want to post here, won't.

Bottom line, if you feel uncomfortable disclosing your birthday, then don't. If it gets to a point where player's accounts will be compromised as a result of knowing the day and month of one's birth (which, frankly, is something people share publicly anyway), then we can be concerned. For now, just wish your fellow players a happy birthday... Or, don't Your choice.
