What is UP mercenaries!!

Have you ever found yourself playing on Black Widow and thought, "oh man, you know what would be great? If a third of this map was Compound and the other third was Sub Base."

And then as you were playing Free For All you also thought, "You know what would be great? If there WAS a map like that and then there was an event where I could earn crates by killing people!"

If these have ever been your thoughts, then boy are you a lucky mercenary because we have just the event for you!

Here's the deets:

October 11th - 15th

Play on FFA and gain points by killing your enemies!

Kills on any FFA map (except the ones specificed) = 1 point
Kills on Compound / Black Widow = 2 Points
Kills on Triple Point = 3 Points

You can earn a maximum of 1000 points a day!

But LASAGNYA! WHAT ARE THE REWARDS??????

:^) I knew you'd ask that so I typed them below:

1000 Points or more = 1 Lethal Abstract Crate
3000 Points or more = 5 Lethal Abstract Crates
5000 Points or more = 10 M200 CheyTac-Graffiti Crates

Which would be a total of 16 crates!

It's doable but kind of a lot of work for 16 crates. 1667 kills if you JUST grind on Triple Point. And you gotta divide it over 5 days. 333.3 kills per day. Can't just grind hard for a day or two when you have the time. Pretty poorly designed event for little reward. Pretty much encourages farming.

so he need 334 kills on the new map, every day for 5 days straight. Assuming you get 50 kill a match thats 100 matches. A little overkill don't you think? People maybe sick of this map in 5 days since people feel like if they dont play it they lose on crates they could potentially get. I'm not saying the event is bad. I'm saying the way the new map was implemented wont make players like the map. Honestly there should have been a separate reward (5 crates) for spending a total of 2 hours playing the new map over the 5 days the event was out. It would have probably put less of a focus on getting kills and more on spending time playing the game.

While it certainly seems like a lot, and I do agree it'd be nice if there was a bit more to it in terms of rewards.....your math is a bit off. Yes 1000/3= 333.333 so 334 kills to complete on the new map. But 334/50 would be 6.68 so 7 matches not 10. And it's a FFA so in a 12 minute that'd be 84 minutes which is less than 2 hours in matches a day and 7 matches 5 days for the event would make 35 matches not 100. Also in a 12 minute match i'd say most of the decent players can hit at least 70-80 kills a match if not around 100. So it's actually about average for one of their events in terms of what it'd take time wise.

Though IMO it would have been nice if the rewards were more and included more of the m200 crates considering that's the main draw to this event since it's needed for the new graffiti collection and it's not available anywhere else right now other than this event.

Thanks for the suggestion, but please note that players always have the option to play other FFA maps.
