s0b3r's PC Parts Information.
Alright, so some of you know me, other don't. All I ask is that you do NOT flame/troll this. All I am doing is putting information on computer parts for those who wish to upgrade their current PC or make/buy a new one. I realize my explanations of parts may be weird, and may not make sense. If you have a question, please, feel free to leave the question here or private message me.
Tiger Direct
I recommend you look at these site if you plan on buying online or are looking at price ranges, or for an idea on good/quality parts.
I know this isn't a guide but, I didn't know where to put it. Also, I hope this helps those who plan on looking at buying a new PC or making their own.
Thanks,
s0b3r
Mother Board, also known as MoBo
The mother board is like the housing for all your parts. Everything is connected to this board some way or another. Mother boards are what determine what kind of processor you have, type of RAM (and how much you can have), and if you can have one or two video cards set up for it.
CPU
The control unit of the computer. The CPU or processor, is what moves the information from point A to point B. There are many different type of CPU's. You have single/dual/triple/quad core processors. The CPU's speed can be determined by looking at the amount of cores it has, and the Ghz it has set for each core. As I said in my FPS guide, the best way to describe this is like a kitchen sink. Each one core represents a drain in the sink. Imagine you have four sinks. One sink is a single core, the next is a dual core, so on, etc etc. Imagine you fill them up with the same amount of water and then pull the plug. Obviously, the quad core would be empty before the others.(This is excluding the effect the amount of ghz each core has.)
RAM
Ram determines how fast information is sent from point A to point B. Most computers you see nowadays have 2 or more GB's of RAM. Although, there are still computers out there that have less. So, in other words, RAM is like the speed limit sign. The more RAM (or higher the speed limit) the faster your computer should go. This is just my opinion, but, I see no need to have more than 4GB's of RAM, unless your computer is a workstation. (where you use programs that are very RAM/CPU dependent)
Power Supply Unit Also known as PSU
The name pretty much describes it all. This is the connector that plugs from your computer to your wall, or some kind of available output. There are many different kinds of PSU's. They all give different amounts of WATTS. You can find out how many watts your computer needs, by looking at the other products before you buy them. For instance, on average, a CPU needs about 110 watts just to run the CPU. Usually, 500-750 watts is more than enough to supply your computer with power.
Video Card
The video card is what displays your desktop on your monitor. Your games, web browser, media player. Anything that has to do with displaying anything on your monitor, comes from your video card. Anything in the ATI 4000 series, or the Nvidia's 9800 GT series and up is a pretty good video card.
The Case
Alright, the case is what holds all of this together. And keeps them cool. Your case is decided on the size of your MoBo, and your video card. ATX, micro ATX. Those are just two of the many sizes of MoBo's. You can find out the size of the MoBo by looking in the descriptions, or asking an employee of where ever you're buying your computer/parts from. I would recommend you make sure that your case has at least 2-3 fans and that they are at least 90mm each. This can also be found in the item description.

GOOGLE MENS GOOGLE .
Actually, google isn't a very promising search engine. Also, I did not go into detail on how they go together, just how they operate. Thanks for the input though Gurpp.
