Kill4thrillz' Tao of the M60

What follows is my Tao of the M60. Follow this and ownage will always be yours.

1. Don't aim every shot at the target. Instead, aim your first shots only and spray the outline of the person. As the target moves, spray around him and you'll nail him. What's the advantage of this? Simple, you don't have to worry about aiming directly at him, but you'll turn him into ground chuck regardless.

2. Don't jump out from around a corner to shoot directly at the target. Most weapons are faster on the draw against the M60 and you'll lose most of the time. Instead, let him pass you by and hose him down. You can also attack from his flank and you will nail him. Again, if you spray his outline he has no chance of escape.

3. If you want to attack a group head-on spray a tight circle around the group but not too quickly. Spray a tight pattern across the group and you'll nail all of them before they have a chance to pop off any rounds back at you. Most players have a tendency of running away when getting shot at while at the same time trying to fire back. This where the M60 owns because you don't have to do this. As long as you stay true to your tight spray pattern, you WILL get the kill.

4. Remember the classic strafing technique. Basically, this means that you'll hold the M60 level while holding down the trigger, and you'll move from left to right and right to left until they're all gone. This is not always easy to do because you may have someone attacking from your flank or rear (if you don't have any buddies rushing behind). But lately I've noticed that in maps like Egypt, noobs will stay inside or just outside the entrance to their bunker. When this happens strafe from mid range and you'll get incredible results.

5. If you go toe-to-toe with an enemy always aim the M60 at his upper torso and head. The recoil alone will almost guarantee you a head shot. This is useful against guys with AK-47s. They already know that an AK will deliver a 2-shot kill. If you aim above his chest you'll nail him first by letting off several shots to the head.

6. Once you've mastered the technique of spraying with the M60, it almost feels like a laser beam. Once you hold down the trigger and rotate in a level semi circle, multiple head shots can be achieved or at least multiple kills.

7. NEVER reload the M60 unless you're completely out of ammo. If you reload before running out, you're missing the point of the M60 entirely and you are less than a noob. The M60 is meant to be enjoyed and savored to the very last round and then, you find a cozy spot, enjoy the sound of grenades blowing up around you, while watching your death-dealer reload itself with 7.62mm goodness.

8. If you try shooting in bursts against enemies it will rarely work because it will give them time to maneuver and aim a kill shot at you. Unless you are positive that you can get a head shot, don't burst. Instead aim well and put one in his dome. Otherwise, spray and find a better spot. If the guy is a noob, he'll punk out and get out of the way too.

9. Never worry about the gun jamming up on you as others do when you squeeze the trigger too long. The M60 has the unique advantage of being able to fire a full 100 rounds without a FTF (that's Failure To Feed for you noobs). If you need to chase a noob down to shoot him in the back like the filthy, disease-filled dawg that he is you can certainly do so with the M60. Nothing brings me more pleasure than watching a noob try to turn around and shoot back while I'm releasing him from the chains of this world.

10. Lastly, never lose your cool when operating the M60. Until you gain the level of mastery I have with the M60 you need to focus on maintaining tight spray patterns and making sure you're always in a superior firing position over your enemy. I've owned just about every weapon in the game, and the M60 is the most satisfying.

Treasure my teachings fellow warrior, and may death always rain down upon the noobs.

gotta admit, you hit it on the head here.
i bought the m60 and just really bought it for laughs.
i then went onto a TD soon after i bought it and found out that it was a pure hammer of ownage. forget kriss super v, use this beast.
i also found that it can be used for supporting you teammates. so camp behind the others and let fly. the enemies (if the're noobs) will only go to their main threats-the people infront. you can sit back and plug away to your hearts content.

ps-i found it also helpful to have the extra mag and to wear armour
  • kekekeke, I was right in choosing my next account as a m60 one ^^ kekekekeke
  • heres what I noticed with the M60

The recoil is predictable and easy to compensate for

    It deals alot of damage

    100 round mag = awesome.

If you burst it, you will get great accuracy and distance with the gun.

Minus the weight, it can serve as a perfect multi-role weapon.

Anyways, as with any lmg (light machine gun), It is NOT for assault (as this person mentioned, let them pass you). LMGs are SUPPORT weapons. I always use one as a Suppression tool while my buddies flank them. After all, whos stupid enough to charge 100 rounds coming at you in a matter of seconds?
  • Do a spray test. The typical spray goes up, then to the left. It'll stay at the same area for 3 seconds, before going to the right. Reticle 2 is great for this.
  • Go my child, and send the noobs back to play Wii with their sisters.

my xbox live roflcopter was just blown up by ur level of hilarity dude xD
