So you give guns out?
lolk.
There are about as many registered teams/people as we would normally get for a tournament at the moment, and there is still 14 days to sign up!
There should be plenty of incentive to play in the tournament, people just need to get in there and get their feet wet.
For example, if you believe that there is a low number of registered tournaments then all of a sudden your team has that much better of a chance to go to China. But you won't get that chance for China if you don't sign up for the tournament!
There seems to be this mentality that teams entering in the tournament won't win. So hopefully this gives them an opportunity to actually get something for signing up, plus a better opportunity to win some prizes even if they don't place #1. -

I only see 2 full teams signed up tho, where are the other "normal" amount of teams? -
So wait. Is this a season event or jsut a one and done tourny..again?
This is a season. There will also be a free league released shortly after the WOGL-P league. Both will HOPEFULLY be running multiple seasons; Granted the community is interested in a future. -

if you continue with paid leagues you're going to have to keep and increase the cash prizes as well and not just give out ZP after this 1st season. -

This isn't giving out ZP.
There is a $1000 US Cash Prize for winning this season/league/finals.
Plus the winner gets to go to China to compete in the World E-Sport Masters to compete for even more cash prizes. -

you clearly didn't read my post right, If you're going to continue the paid league, you're going to have to increase the cash prize amount as only a $1000 prize pool, setting the trip to china aside, is extremely small for a $8-9 entrance fee per player. So to increase participation in the paid league, more cash incentive would be necessary in future events, not just increasing ZP amounts. -

The game itself is clearly just starting out in a competitive scene. MOST events are are backed with corporate sponsors. For this game to continue forth, increasing the prize would involve shopping ad fees and marketing the idea(s) to corporate clients. Cash leagues/events don't come out of the box with such a high payout. This game has only been public a little more than a year...it's still in the developmental stage. Once the engine client are at a sufficient point, they [as an organization] can begin building outward into ESports. As a CS man yourself, you should understand this....because CounterStrike wasn't picked up for the first three years following its' release in 1999. I remember Beta testing it like it was yesterday; The Quake and Doom crowd online was HUGE, merging communities came with a high demand for more. It wasn't until it substance was at a decent enough level they could begin working outward in the competitive scene.
Give Cross Fire a chance to build as a brand (in both NA & UK), and work out a good portion of their issues before thinking BIG in the future. This is only the 2nd quarter of it's second year on the market.
