and it took like 7 minutes for CF to pop-up after i saw the Xtrap thingy
how long do u wait b4 u think its not gonna pop-up
I'M on my comp since a couple of hours. No pop up. -
But will my PC run slower if I put windows 7 on it?
Comparing with Vista, hell no (Vista is a damm cancer)! With XP I'm not sure, but 7 can run on a 1GB RAM system (personal experience) and dont have the bugs of the XP. Try it, is the best thing to do. -

How can I know my RAM system? I think mine is 2GB but I'm not sure. -
omg. if you havn't already installed another OS, don't!
im running CF on windows XP with 1gb of RAM. its not the OS or ram i will tell you that.
You could have problems with your OS paged pool memory though. i know on other games once my page pool memory fill up the game shuts down. forgot how to cheak it and give yourself more so you will need to try google -
Dont listen to these guys .
It's nothing to do with your operating system, with the way your discribing it it seems like its the anti-cheat program .
When you uninstall CF, if im not wrong it does not delete the anti-cheat program aka xtrap, go to your crossfire directory and delete the xtrap folder .
Try updating your drivers/ Windows updates/Close background process that might be blocked from xtrap . -
No, you will need this program for many games

Well try it and if it does not work, feel free to private message me
I downloaded it. It was a good idea, but it didnt work.omg. if you havn't already installed another OS, don't!

I know it might not be the source of the problem, but installing windows 7 and rebooting my PC will solve the problem.Dont listen to these guys .

You suggest I delete my X-Trap folder in the document CrossFire? You sure it's not gonna f*ck me up more?
I'll try to update things, but if it doesnt work I'll just do what I said previously.
... Or I'll buy a new comp.
Thx to everyone who tried to help me. -
PierreFanan wrote: »Dude you dont need to buy a new computer just for this lol. Install the Windows 7, like I told you. It maybe seems a little bit excessive, well, maybe a little, but installing Windows 7 its useful not just for CrossFire. But thats my opinion.

I know, I've only heard good things about it so, yeah, I think it's a wise choice and not only for CF.
