[NEW] Map Editor - Please Read (Important)
Hello, everyone. I'm a designer and programer and I'd like to know if I could create my own map at Crossfire. I know that due to organization reasons this may not be possible, therefore I'd like to propose a new system that leads us into Counter Strike system of maps and zones. We would have these great default maps or we could import our own maps to the game in order to introduce new ideas and amusement to all the players.
You see, unfortunately, it appears to be that some players know hidden glitches at some maps. It occurs to me as an example, the Ship, where we can hide inside the containers, or the Zone 13 at Mutation Mode, where it is possible to climb to several places that are quite hard to reach.
Yet, this is one more reason to allow players to expose their ideas and creations on Map Editing so that every player would be facing a new map and wouldn't know the secrets of it. Each player would be able to save each map to his "Favorite Maps" list so he could play that map later on or even edit it later at his own taste and will.
I'm quite sure that everyone would see this as a nice improvement to this game. I was actually surprised and sad to know that we couldn't edit or create our own maps on this game and I was forced to actually buy "Counter Strike: Source" in order to create some maps.
With this said, I ask the Moderators of this Forum to be alert and to take this in consideration, and please work on this nice feature. I also want to ask for any support by other players who read this thread and together we may take this forward and actually embed this option in the official game.
Last, but not least, I wanted to thank every producer and staff member envolved on this wonderful game which has addicted me so deeply and glued my face to my computer screen so easily, hundreds of times.
Honest regards,
Ricardo Estevez

u sir, reek of fail
ZMinus is right, this will never happen
if u know something about cf, ud know that we copy and paste from chinese cf
however, chinese cf doesnt have this option, therefor meaning this will not happen
"Ha, right! And who are you to be so sure about that?" and how r u sure that this wll happen
"Well, sad of you with all that lack of willness, faith and optimism. I'm willing to take a chance and try it out so don't come and ruin it all with fake predictions."
UMAD ? -

You really are ******ed. Justifying my phrase, I never said I was sure that would happen. As a matter fact, I actually said I was willing to take a chance. So, with all the respect, sir, **** you. -
this will never happen also because if people would make maps so people couldnt glitch, theres also going to be people who make new maps with numerous and easy glitches, or just one glitch that only they know about, making this a stupid idea
also most games that implement this idea are paid games, and since cf isnt paid, its probably not going to happen and even if it did you would probably have to pay zp for it -
Call boost, it's allowed. Overall, I would love that, but not gonna happen.rinuextreme wrote: »Hello, everyone. Ok guys don't rage at him and tell him it wont happen.
I would love to see it happen. I think it is a great idea and hope that it is considered.
However the American version of CF is not the Version "in-charge." The Chinese version of crossfire is the version that comes up with the fancy updates and new weapons and everything. the American Z8games isn't allowed to create new things without consent from China. We just update occasionally with more stuff from China. If you really want this to happen, and i do too, you'd better learn to speak Chinese. Somehow contact them. or ask a moderator for some more facts.
anyway I'd love to see this update. -
It *probably* won't happen because Z8Games, AFAIK, is just a publisher, and really has no direct control of what gets included in the game. The developers do, plus, considering the amount of bugs/glitches the official, real maps of the game have...let's just say a fan-made map would be one exciting fest. ><

Seeing as you can read so well...it says "INSIDE CRATES"...meaning, box glitching.
FAIL.
Anyway, if you wanna make maps for a game, I suggest you make your own game and then compete with CF...trust me. CF and CA are made with the same engine, but Nexon acutally WORKED on their game, while Smilegate just tossed shiz together in a vile attempt at getting into the MMOFPS genre money game.
Notice how all of the textures in CF look like paper? Ever seen what the other side of walls are? Yeah...paper. So much for 'game development'...-_- -

Hi there,
I have asked saidin about this myself before now. Unfortunately he told me it is not ****ible for the community to make the maps for contractual reasons
its a shame i know i enjoy making maps too and im used to the lithtech enegine that they use for CF yet i still cant make any
He told me i could make a map in deEdit (same as what CF uses) and post this at the forums and it might be took into consideration... but i dont want to waste my time making a map and nothing come of it...
Although I would like to see the community beable to make maps i highly doubt it will happen
*yawn* Goodnight

I am a mapper from q2 q3 cs hl etc etc.l asked the same thing myself my 2nd day of joining cf in a post and lord knows i caught all kinds of sh@@ feedback. But the main point i was trying to state is CF is/ could be a huge game that could turn into a profit thing down the road for the powers in charge. When HL first came out no one knew what CS was , which spawned as a MOD and turned out to be one of the biggest of all times.Maybe the powers in charge will give some thought to this....cf is a great free game which i think could become HUGEEE and become a massive money maker for them.Anyway just my 2 cents

I agree with DoPe. -

if i can finish work on something like this (and yes that was when it was about 60% complete), submit it to them, and have it declined from them becuase it "wasnt in other versions of Crossfire". then what hope does this idea have? :P -
This is a real fact.
U cant really create ur own maps or edit then or w/e u want cuz CF America is not the real orginal Crossfire they just gather all the stuff from original CF China with their authorization.
The only thing u will exclusively find in CF America is the GSG-9 go search videos and they have 3 new chars but they dont have the GSG-9, they the DELTA, ROSE, and a Chinesse thought guy. I dont want to give u negative optimist but as the last guy that bothered u said, is a fact, unless u contact CF China and ask then ur loosing ur time by requesting this to CF America. -
they will not give u anything.its in the rules to not give anything to a member.so its pointless to ask themfor map editor.they will say no to u.rinuextreme wrote: »Hello, everyone.
