Noone said luck wasn't involved, it's just about what skill is.
Tactical retreat is always an option btw.

    Pedobear pulls out D:;
  • You don't need skill, just the right attitude to play the game.

You could have bad luck too, if you go the right way, there might be 1 noob enemy, which you can take out easily, if you go the left way, there might be 5 guys waiting for u....its not all about skill, 50% of this game is luck if not even more than that...

Me thinks you need to stop trying to be a lone ranger.

True, you don't "need" skill. but it makes things more enjoyable. :D

Being a skilled player is much more than having a good reaction time, you can have a good reaction time and still be terrible at this game, just saying....

ya agreed. If some noob came into this game with a super fast brain or w/e. any1 could kickhis ass.
  • This game is a money based game .
Not a skill based one ... like CS 1.6 .
  • its not just reaction time that determines whether you're skilled or not at this game, there are many factors that come into play.

    for example:
    -game sense
  • Some people are just natural to the fast pace thinking and muscle control.
  • Luck does play a factor in games like this. You can do everything right and still lose because the recoil decided to go this way instead of that way.
  • This skill thing is just hand-eye coordination. So when you call some a Bad/Skill less it's not THEM that is bad it's that they're brain may be a LITTLE slower then others' as other people have faster brain's so this whole "Skill" Thing is NOT skill it's how fast your brain processes movement as I myself can tell
In a sniper match I see the target and it take's to long to actually acquire that is a target before my brain can actually process that It's a target and now the Pointer finger has to use the muscle to click so the whole "Skill" thing is BS It's just how fast your brain learns'/process's but you may also be asking "Then how do some people get better?" Well over time your brain will learn and just know what to do and when like with number's you know it so well that as soon as you see it you know what it is.
So basically this skill thing is BS

I'll put it in simpler term's

You eye's pick up the data, Go's to your brain where it process's then threw your nerve's into that muscle but if your brain is slower it take's longer Thus ending the hole "skilled" thing your just faster as others' are slower

There was another thread like this called "What is this skill thing?" and there was a comment "I can click faster" Sure you can but that's cause your brain is faster, It does NOT mean your Challenged it mean's your not as fast as some people which is normal.

You make an interesting point that can be scientifically proven. I would not want to go toe to toe with my grandkids here on a lan as I'm sure they would kick my old arse. My only saving grace is I pay for a stable high speed internet connection. So latency is my best friend.

  • being skilled=don't act like a whiny 9 y/o play the game, and have fun
  • Wait wait wait..
So instead of saying they have no skill now we should just call them slow?
    As in ret@rded?
    Sweet...
  • Good point.
except you are skillful because you've played the game that it's becoming habit to process that someone walked out and you have to shoot.
For instance. I am fairly good at CF, but when I stopped and went to CA for a bit, I was not used to the gameplay compared to CF. After playing it for an hour or so, I became better. Why? because I'm getting more skill. I'm getting skill because my brain is processing the game things more. but whatever :P
  • its not just reaction times as u put it....

its experince, gut feelings trying to understand where people might be (eg)

say eagle eye your in tower... u shooting at last guy in a site... he jumps down... u lose sight... now me if i dont see within 20 secs ill jump out of tower. ( hit jump as hit floor for no hp loss ( silent fall) and creep to b site quick...and usually hit them with headshot just after they laid bomb( more exp)

    then get called a hacker....

    this is skill...

or in ghost mode learning to pinpoint.... even up or down not just left and right....

u can pinpoint by sound for left to right.... but it takes exstinct and experince to know whether infront ip or down... just depending where u are in the map....
    this is skill...

    hope this helps

recoil is allways constant ( while standing still)
  • recoil is allways constant ( while standing still)

I wouldn't recommend standing still lol

actually i do it alot... i see someone aim stand still and fire.. kill and move on...because recoil is less

ive found moving around lets there stray bullets hit you.....

standing still they spray around you ( not for snipers or very close range)

Doesn't matter what the situation is I've always found people who stand still an easy hs.

i dont mean stand still for ages... i mean... i get them in crosshair.. stand still and exact same time shoot3-5 bullets kill them then move again all within 1.5-2 seconds... lol and with 20 ping its b4 they can react alot fo the time

lol ok. but i still "stand" by my original statement. if you stop moving my crosshair does to, nuff said.

yea i know wot u mean... but alot of people expect u keep moving ect...

and theres more newbs on this game than old skilled players....

when i see high ranks i play diffrently

You're half wrong, aim = skill. Some just can't aim, so you're wrong, aim = practice and yes, it is a skill
  • Phillybear wrote: »
    lol u serious?
Seriously, your survival and chance to kill depends on a lot more than just your reaction speed. Everything you do in the game counts towards your overall skill.... Tactics, communication with your team, gun choice depending on the situation/map, interpretation of things you see/hear, way of moving around.

You can have an awesome reaction speed and aim, but if you just run around like a chicken, you will end as a headless one... even against someone who would be way worse according to your post.

Again with this "Skill" It's knowing not skill.
  • I love when people think being 'skilled' at this game is a good thing O_o
It's an extremely basic game, with a tiny community, and you pretty much buy your way to kills.
