invalid version possible fix

either this worked for me or they fixed it between last time i tried to get the game going
try it if u wish.

open the version config file in crossfire folder
if it says version 1042 change it to 1043
save it
then open the properties menu of the same version config file and change it to read only.

then see if itl start for you hope this helps.
