Xtrap - False Positive Viruses- How to by pass the Anti-Virus
Hello i had the same problem recently where my anti virus automatically blocks the two files:
- "xtrapva.dl"
- "xtrapva1.dll"
These files can be found in your Xtrap folder!
My anti-virus suggests that is a backdoor trojan. But i assure you it is not. It was just a false positive.
AS the a Z8 Games Moderator said:
"Many players are receiving warning from their antivirus software while updating their game with the newest patch. Rest assured that this is a false detection on the part of your antivirus software. The methods used by most anticheat software involves deep scanning of system processes and files, and can easily be mistakenly identified as a threat by the advanced heuristic detections of antivirus software."
WHAT TO DO:
1 - Turn off you Anti-Virus
2 - Add Crossfire folder to the exception list
3 - Turn off your firewall
If that dosen't work then try:
- Reinstalling the game
- Download the latest setup file from: http://crossfire.z8games.com/download3.html
- Run as an Administrator

That's not bypassing...
Thats ridicolus disablind your antivirus, making your antivirus dont detect anything.
Maybe if you add these files in the blocked items, so the antivirus wont detect.
Or get a better antivirus, since mine is not detecting anything.(Avira antivir) -

Then you cannot play crossfire, and you can't have it both ways. -
You need to add every single blocked file (for example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Z8Games\CrossFire\XTrap\XTrapVa.dll ) or even xtrap http update page to exceptions (add to exception also: http://dl3.g4box.com/Xtrap/A6002995/XTrapVA.dll ) in your antivirus.
I have Avira and i have added in my scaner and guard mode all xtrap files from crossfire xtrap folder. And you also need to delete xtrap folder, start Crossfire and then it will d/l create and update Xtrap
Now you can play again! -
